Hey cephus, I really don't believe coach Price would take the McMinn job because the pay is too low. But for McMinn's sake the should hire Price because his teams from Soddy Daisy and Bradley have beaten McMinn alot more than McMinn has beaten his teams.

It won't be McMinn Central and it won't be an assistant job. Word is that Coach Price is the new Head Coach at Coffee County Central in Manchester. Hope he likes a challenge. If everybody will leave him alone and let him do his job, things will be fine. If he has a lot of second guessers or gets unwanted advise (pressure) from outside sources, he will do no better than anyone else who coached at Coffee County over the last 8-10 years. I think everybody involved now realizes that they need a coach, not a puppet. I hope he gets what he needs to turn this program around.

Bill Price got a unique birthday present Monday night.

 

It was just a matter of time before he landed another job as a head football coach and that opportunity came his way on the day he celebrated his 42nd birthday.

 

Price resigned as the head man at Bradley following a disappointing 2-8 season, but he was approved by the school board in Coffee County as the next head coach for the Red Raiders.

 

"The board approved my hiring last night and I'll sign the papers today," Price said this morning when making the announcement.

 

Coffee County, located in the heart of Manchester, also had a 2-8 record last fall. The Red Raiders have won just five games in the last seven years, which gives Price another huge challenge.

 

"This is just another job where people have told me I can't win, but it seems like I have a niche for trying to rebuild football programs," he said.

 

The Red Raiders did beat Region foe Cookeville in the fall and they have an outstanding quarterback returning, so there is room for optimism on their part.

 

Bill's wife Debbie is the athletic secretary at Bradley and her daughter Whitney is a sophomore and the starting second baseman on the Bearette softball team. Chelsey is a cheerleader in the seventh grade at Ocoee.

 

"I'll be heading out as soon as possible, but I still have some final details to take care of here first. I'm sure that I'll commute for the rest of the year and we'll move when school's out," Price added.

 

An All-State player for the Red Bank Lions, Price later played for UTC. His first job was as head coach at Lookout Valley when he was 22 and he stayed with the Jackets for two years.

 

He then spent one year at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe before returning to Red Bank as an assistant under legendary coach Tom Weathers for five seasons.

 

He was the head coach at Soddy Daisy for five years before a one-year stint at Hueytown. He's been at Bradley for the last five years.

No, your wrong! Price has beat Mullinax more times. He beat him at Soddy Daisy and at Bradley. Yes McMinn beat Bradley last. But on Price vs Mullinax wins. Price has beaten Mullinax more. And McMinn is to stupid to hire someone with Prices ability and love for the game and kids... Price is much better off at Coffee County than at McMinn. And if you look at the team Price had this year at Bradley I don't know many other coaches that could have won any games let alone 2. If Mullinax had to play with the talent Price has had to play with the last couple of years I would love to what he could have done. Good Luck to Coach Price. And your MAJOR LOSS McMinn. This shouldn't be a Bradley McMinn thing, people forget it's all about the kids.
