Well, since everybody else is making lists and checking them twice, I've decided to post my own list of Memphis freshmen of prominence. It looks to be another loaded class with new ones emerging everyday.

1. Thaddeus Young Mitchell 6'7" PG

2. Willie Kemp Bolivar 6'1" WG

3. Nathaniel Calhoun Ral-Egypt 6'4" WF

4. Pierre Niles Treadwell 6'5" 4F

5. Chris Bell Frayser 6'1" 2G

6. ???? White Sta. 6'5" 5 (from Chickasaw)

7. Tony Whitehead East 5'8" PG

8. Joseph Watkins Hamilton 6'7" 5

9. Jeremy Williams Hamilton 6'7" 5

10. Marcus Hunter Ral-Egypt 6'0" 2 (Cory Bradford's

brother)

11. Steve Dowdle Houston 6'8" 5

Of course, this is not a final list as there are other young men deserving of being on this list and have not yet emerged on their high school's team. White Station, Ridgeway, Houston, and others, have freshmen with potential in their programs as do many other schools in the Memphis area. The spring AAU's will bring a lot of them out in the public's eye.

Chris has just started playing again for Frayser. They detected a heart murmur in his physical and he has been held out til he could be cleared. He has played just a few games but his scoring is definitely a plus for a hapless Frayser team. He's a very talented shooter for his age.

Tony is a bit undersized for a shooting guard and he plays for a very talented East team with veteran guards. He also shoots the ball well and is seeing spot duty in nearly every game. Both have a future in the game if Tony can grow some more and Chris can pick up his game pace a bit.
