I have to get on here every so often to enlighten people on this subject. Due to the fact some coaches in the Shelbyville area, and some in the Oak Ridge area have recruited and gotten away with it, ie., the TSSAA has looked the other way, there is no reinforceable recruiting rules anymore at this date.

You are confusing the two issues. The issue brought up is a transfer eligibility issue not recruiting. There are specific rules in place for transfers to be eligible (change of residence being one). In most cases, players have to sit out a full year from the last day of athletic competiton at one school. They can play JV at their new school up to that point.

Yeah Poopeye(lol, inside joke)sounds weird to me,I dont see how it is legal.I know a couple of people who moved to anther school, and they were planning on comin back to their old school later to play,so they werent even permitted in the gym or around any of the other players while they were practicing or they would be inelligeble.

You have to make a bone-a-fide change of residence. You must close down your old residence and if the TSSAA catches you spending the night there one time, you are ineligible. You must unhook the phone and turn off the electricity. If you move and live with your kin, they have to become your legal guardian, and there goes your insurance coverage. You must move for "other than" athletic reasons. ......Ah forget it. Let the girl play. With all the other things people are getting away with, how can you penalize one person.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
