    Beech

I will say that during my time at Beech, Coach Hayes was always a hard worker on and off the field. He sacrificed lots of time, when he could have been at home, working on the field or some part of the facility to improve the appearance of Beech High School. He is knowlegable about the game of baseball and relates this information to his players. Some players understand the fact that they should be STUDENTS of the game. If they are struggling at the plate, then perhaps some additional cuts on their own will help them end the slump. Give him the support and encouragement that he deserves for being dedicated enough to spend more time with high school athletes than he spends with his own family. Coach Hayes, keep up the good work.
  2. 10-AAA Bracket: Clarksville- Bye Dickson County #2 hosts NE #7 Henry County #3 hosts Kenwood #6 Rossview #4 hosts NW #5 The top four advance to the tourney site at Henry County starting Monday.
  3. from the top2, first thanks for the compliment about Kenwood. Yes, we do have a unique situation in the fact that this school is in a constant state of transition with military students making up a majority of our population. I do have to tell you though, you are mistaking about Lumpkin and Yelkovich. Those two young men were freshmen in the fall of 2002. I have been at this school since the fall of 2000 and coached against Kenwood in 1997 and 1998 and I know for a fact that these two young men are going to return for their senior season in the fall of 2005.
  4. Coach K is a good friend of mine and he is ready to spend a few more hours a week with his grandchildren. He is staying on as the offensive coordinator. It will not affect the coaching staff in the least. Coach Watkins is a good man and coach. He will do good things at NE, with the staff already in place.
  5. First of all let me say congratulations to the Franklin Rebels for representing the toughest 5A region in the Blue Cross Bowl. This will be Kenwood's final year in region 6-5A. We, as a coaching staff feel that playing at this level of competition for the last four years will benefit us greatly as we move down to region 6-4A. Our two all region players will be returning for their senior seasons next year. First player spent time at qb, slot, and wr on offense and played Bandit safety for us on defense. His name is Jeff Yelkovich. The second young man plays tackle on offense and defensive end for us. His name is Ricky Lumpkin. Both of these young men have seen quality playing time since their freshman year. We are looking for good things from both as we move into our new region next season.
  6. baconbreath, I talked with Coach Aric yesterday afternoon and he told me the same thing that you mentioned to Bama4Life. I hate to see all the turnover at BHS, because the players need stability in order to restore that program. I hate to see it because of another reason though. See, I used to coach there from 1997-2000, but left in the spring of 2000 because I live in Clarksville and had the opportunity to coach in the city where I live. I still talk with Aric, Hardison, Taylor, and Younger. They are good men and coaches that put everything they had into that program. Good luck to Coach Crabtree as he now tries to restore that program. Aric will find work by timie football rolls around for sure. I believe that Hardison will also be coaching somewhere in the fall. Good luck to both of those men as well. I do hope that Coach Taylor gets the opportunity to fish more now that he has retired.
  7. A football movie with Kurt Russell and Robin Williams titled "The Best of Times" is a pretty good movie to see. I hope that FNL is close to the book, but my fear is that it will not be given justice with the film.
  8. Coach K, Coach Watkins, Coach Hudson and Co. will have the eagles ready to play for sure. I know that Coach Porter, Coach Grantham, and Co. will be ready for this regional war. Good luck to both squads. Coach K, how is Barry Cunningham?
  9. I feel that Henry should win this one simply because of the athleticism. McNairl is a tough competitor who handles that offense very well for a sophomore. The knights played DC tough in week 2, but HC simply took us to the woodshed in week 4. Good luck Patriots.
  10. ELA, the new facilities look nice. I noticede the new digs as the Knights passed by on their way to Henry County last week. Keep working hard and good luck the rest of the year to the Rebels.
  11. it is obvious hchsfootballplayer that you do not know all the teams in region 6-5a. McGavock is in region 5-5a with Beech, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Antioch, Hunters Lane, and Glencliff.
  12. smokey16, I would have to agree with you about region 6-5a being the toughest region. When you think about the last two years, Brentwood was king of the hill in 2002, winning the gold football. Last year, Franklin came within one game of playing for the gold football as well. Dickson and Centennial represented this region very well during the playoffs. Our region also experienced a three way tie for the region championship last year if I remember correctly.
  13. Dickson will be motivated to perform at a higher level of expectations than what happened to them in the BA scrimmage. Beech must control the ball on offense in order to have a chance. This should be a good game in Dickson.
  14. Queen City Jamboree information: Kenwood plays Harpeth at 6pm Rossview plays Cheatham County at 7pm Northwest plays Sycamore at 8pm Clarksville plays Montgomery Central at 9pm.
  15. Going into bluedevil country will not be an easy task for the vikings. I know the staff at White House and you can count on one thing, that squad will be well coached and prepared each week. I think White House wins in week 9 to win subgroup A.
  16. Good Luck to the Indians from Montgomery Central High in Cunningham, Tn. Coach Dunn and his staff have definitely paid their dues to get to this point. The Indians are playing good defense, getting timely hitting from different players when the hits are needed and, their pitching is helping the defense keep games close.
  17. His last name is Cawley. Sorry if I have misspelled the last name. He began teaching at Beech after I left so I do not know him personally.
  18. Talked to some coaches from my former assignment at Beech High School and it seems that the new Rebels Head Coach is currently on staff at Beech. Good Luck to him in this endeavor.
  19. The Knights will start April 27th.
  20. From Kenwood: Armond Hunter #65 OT/DT Jeff Yelkovich #11 WR/DB
  21. Clarksville NE will play @ Rossview on Thursday 11/6 in the Civitan Bowl.
  22. slowhwhiteguy, the jamboree in Clarksville was delayed and then later cancelled as a result of the weather. NW and Sycamore were able to finish the first two quarters. Sycamore scored on their first drive of the contest and thats where it ended. NE and Montgomery Central were into the second quarter of their contest when the storms hit. Montgomery Central was winning 7-0 at the time. No other matches were played.
  23. eaglefan15, it was more of a work day than scrimmage. Pass skeleton and inside run drill was the main focus. Individual work with dbs and wideouts also.
  24. The Kenwood @ Ravenwood will be played on Thursday the 30th.
  25. Ricky Yamin from Beech is the best that I have been around. He attended camp each year with the football team at Camp NaCoMe. He is a part of Physiotherapy Associates. He knows what he is doing and the players trust him.
