What do you guys think about his development as a college player? He had 14 pts last night as the dores upset Gerogia.

Vandy is lookin pretty good this yr. by upsetting bama and georgia.....Moore gives them good minutes off the bench..I like his play

Moore starts now..I think he got his first start vs UK and has been starting since.

Mario has all the physical skills to be a great SEC player. He still needs to work on reducing his turnovers and improving his free throw shooting. Look for him to be on the SEC all freshman team this year.

i agree. i was suprised that he shot free throws so poorly(56%) for a guard. he also had a few careless turnovers. but overall the kid has GAME! he will be on the sec freshman team. terrell is getting better with each game.

Mario Moore is decent, but he can't shoot free throws. No point guard in the sec is nearly as good as Cliff Hawkins of Kentucky.

RealEagle you've got to be kidding. In two years Hawkins has shutdown All American Chris Thomas from Notre Dame. He has made him look average at best. Hawkins is very underrated.

Hawkins is good, but he's not even the best point guard in the SEC much less the country (T.J. Ford)

Don't forget about Gardner at Arizona, and the list goes on. Anyways, Moore is playing great, but when I was watching the Georgia game they said he was starting because normal starter Corey Smith was injured.

Did Lakey start too? Their usual starting lineup is

1- Russell Lakey, 2- Jason Holwerda, 3- Matt Freije, 4-Corey Smith, 5- Brian Thornton.

 

I just used 1-5, they sometimes run a four guard set, because Smith and Freije can play outside or they'll bring in Hundley and Moore.

 

Also, no one gives alot of respect to single A, but this saturday at Vandy there will be 3 players from the 2001 single A state tournament on the floor. (Holwerda, Terrell, Pearson) playing SEC ball for two of the young up and comers in the league.

Yeah, Lakey started. I'm pretty sure that was only the first or second game that Mario started, I could be wrong because I missed a couple games after that Kentucky game, but I follow them pretty closely because I played hs ball with Holwerda. What about those Tennessee boys representing? They've been playing pretty well up at Vandy.
