I know we have been talking for a while now about this, but seeing that they are being announced in just a couple of days,I thought we would get one last word in on our picks.

 

Who are your picks, and of your picks who do you think will win?

I think Holly Wright from Celina should definitly be a finalist.

I think in AAA it will be Ashleigh Newman from Shelbyville, Ashley Shields from Melrose and Amber Benjamin from Coffee County with Shields winning it. Just my guess. I say Rebecca Rowsey will win in AA and then I have no clue in the other divisions.

Speaking of Rowsey...had 18 points with a double team all night. They both followed her when she went to stand in the corner. Rowsey and company held opponent to 2 points in the 2nd half (0 in the 3rd, and 2 in the 4th). Rowsey is my pick (tough to stop offensively and a defensive monster, averaging around 10 rebounds and 6 blocked shots a game!!)

I've never seen anyone as able to score against double teams as Katrina Beechboard is able to do. She even draws triple teams, splits them, and scores on them. She will be a finalist in AA - count on it.

Brittany Frazier has to one of the final three. She is 20 points shy of 2000 points in her career at Oak Ridge.

I think in AAA, it should be Ashleigh Newman and Alex Fuller from Shelbyville, and Amber Benjamin from Coffee County. I have seen all of these girls play this year and they can take over a game whenever they want to.

I think in single A it should be Holly Turnbow, she has had an outstanding 4 years at Perry County and led the girls to 2nd place in the district, a place well deserved and where they haven't been in a long time. Holly scored 22 of the total 44 points against Wayne County in the district championship game. Good luck Holly and the rest of the Lady Vikings at Eagleville next week!
