MemphisEastFan
I don't want to take anything away from any of those other young ladies listed below (I haven't had the opportunity to see most of them play, as I'm sure most of you have not seen a lot of Memphis players), but I would bet that Ashley Shields is in a class by herself. She plays hard on both ends of the floor, she wants to win more than anyone I know, and she's the most talented player in the state!!! iamoz
"What a difference a couple of weeks makes for [brittany] Frazier, who was named the tournament's MVP and today was announced as one of three finalists for the Class AAA Miss Basketball Award in Tennessee." http://oakridger.com/stories/030303/spo_0303030003.html
sportsman
How are they going to know if she is nominated or not when the nominations were delayed until tomorrow. I have almost no doubt that she will be named as a finalist but was wondering who had that scoop and where I could get some info.
iamoz
You might ask the players coach, I don't know... Usually on announcements like this some members of the media will get advance notice so they can get it in that day's edition.

goosevol
Coaches usually find out early, but they probably were not supposed to spill the beans. I know who has been selected also, but I'm not going to tell.
Guest WildcatHoops
Katrina Beechboard this girl dominates the court...She rebounds, scores, aggressive, smart, talented, great defense, She is awesome you cant say enough about her I think she deserves this she is a great great player...She got MVP of her district and she deserved it and she deserves this end of story
freddyg
I agree that she is a great player. I think she slacks off on defense some times, but most players do if given a chance.

The General
I agree...If anyone but Beechboard gets it, something is really messed up..I dont care what anyone else says..She really deserves it... GO BEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
goosevol
I think it's great that y'all support Beechboard, but it would by no way be an injutice if someone else gets it. I feel the same way about Laura Hall from OS, but I'm not going to say that no one else deserves it because Tennessee has some great players that could win the award. I hope Hall gets it, but I won't be disapponted if she doesn't because simply being nominated says a lot about a player.
