Guest muld
What happened to Russell Ware played in the late 90s on the great Cleveland Basketball teams with Vincent Yarbrough. [Edited by muld on 11/28/01 10:43 AM]
TnBball
I BELIEVE RUSSELL PLAYS BASKETBALL FOR TREVECCA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE. ITS A NAIA SCHOOL BUT HE WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE BEFORE TRANSFERRIN IN. NOT SURE IF THATS WHERE BUT LAST TIME I HEARD THATS WHERE HE WAS ATTENDING. Guest muld
Did a little looking around and see that he played his soph year at North Idaho, his freshman year at Hiwassee. Can't find any record of him at Trevecca. In my opinion he did more than any player on Cleveland's team his senior year. Yarbrough basically just stood around on the court his last year after he had committed to Tennessee. Meanwhile, Ware was very impressive. TnBball
I AGREE, I HONESTLY BELIEVED THAT VINCENT YARBROUGH WAS A LIL OVER RATED. I THOUGHT THEIR BEST PLAYER WAS RUSSELL WARE. I SAW HIM VS CLARKSVILLE IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT IN 1997 GUARD TRENTON HASSELL (CHICAGO BULLS ROOKIE) TOE TO TOE. HE NEVER WORE DOWN EITHER AND BELIEVE ME TRENT WAS ALOT TO DEAL WITH IN HIGH SCHOOL. THE MEDIA LEFT THERE SAYING THAT HASSELL HAD PUT ON THE BEST ONE GAME PERFORMANCE OF ANYBODY THEY SAW COME THROUGH MTSU FOR A STATE TOURNAMENT..THAT INCLUDING PENNY HARDAWAY AND RON MERCER ALONG WITH OTHER GREAT STARS, SO THAT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT RUSSELL WARE WAS ABOUT. basspro12
I was a member of the Cleve High School basketball team the year that we played Clarksville in the state tournament and Russell (aka Tater) Ware did not guard Trenton Hassell. It was Vincent Yarbrough that guarded him and Vincent did a good job on him considering that he in the NBA now and he was one of the best players to ever play in the state tournament. The reason that Ware did not guard him is because "Tater" is about 6'3'' and Hassell is about 6'7'' that's why Yarbrough guarded him. jz41
Basspro I played on that team as well, and i got to say that Hassell lit us up but there was nobody in the state that could stop him. All i really remember wasy him killin Del Baker, if Hassell would had any help we might not have got out of the first round.
