gomab2
I disagree Deisel... There is only 1 Midstate Ballerz player in the Top 10 in Class of 2004... I just honestly feel the Delks are higher than Tyler right now. They have far better perimeter skills, and are just as exposive and athletic at the same height. Right now, Tyler is a 6'5/6'6 Bf/Wf with an Amazing upside. The Delks on the other hand, are about the same height at 6'5/6'6, but play the Point and 2G positions... And, as I said in another post, you can take the Top 5 or 6 in that Class and arrange them in any way you want, honestly. Prince, ReDelk, RiDelk, Smith, Gordon, and Cromwell all are MAJOR prospects, and any coach would be lucky to have any of the six...
cdm2003
Jamont has just as much post game as tyler, and has a better perimeter game, and he's not in front of Tyler. He doesn't have a state championship because he doesn't have the surroundings that Tyler has. You must have not seen him play lately. Because he gets it done inside and out, plus he can pass when he wants to. I'd really advise him to get a transfer.
TheEgoHasLanded
Cromwell has more upside then any of the kids IMO. He's really improved over the last 4 years, and he plays harder competetion during the school years then the other ones...thats the honest truth right there. I didn't say he was the best player out of the bunch, just that he has more upside, and he plays harder competetion.
cdm2003
Giles Co. won the state championship, you face the best teams in the state and sub-state, so Tyler may of had a tougher schedule. But Cromwell is tough, and I also agree during the regular season he had the toughest season, and you can't name a player on here that hasn't improved in the last 4 years. I haven't seen him play in almost a year I'm sure he's gotten better. He's ranked in the top 10 or 15 in the country on basketballphenoms.com. Tyler is ranked 6th or 7th. TheEgoHasLanded
I saw the kid get the ball at the three point line, take one dribble and do a reverse dunk on the otherside of the rim last summer, not many 15 year old kids can do that...He will just get better and better, his coaching in the summer really helps him playing for Team Nike. mas1821
noone can do that w/out walking!! 3 pt line, one dribble, reverse slam... that's atleast 3-4 steps... I've seen tyler dunk from about 2 foot outside the hot spot and 1 foot shy of the free throw line... but come on... maybe if the guy was on a break away and had the momentum and just took one dribble after passing the 3 pt line... but getting it at the 3pt line takin 1 or 2 steps then doing a reverse slam.... LoL... give me a break! How long was the cape hanging down off of his back??
EKLakers
Ok man we know you are a big Tyler Smith Fanatic but he cannot do that that's some doctor J stuff I mean comeon man one foot LOL!!!
krogers
EKLAKERS, I have the video to prove it. He was one foot inside the foul line when he left, that is no BS. The tape doesn't lie. I have the Columbia game on video, where he picked Wadele's pocket about half way betweek half-court and 3 point line. He took about 3 or 4 steps and slammed it home w/ authority. I seen him catch an oop against L'burg, w/ his back to the goal, pump it down to his waist and finish with a monsterous reverse dunk. The kid has major ups. TheEgoHasLanded
The kid is 6 foot 9, so his legs are longer then most kids and he did it...I never said he didn't travel, but you could take one step, then dribble then take another step while dribbling then have your other two steps so that is four steps to go 20 feet...seems pretty possible to me. mas1821
not happening w/out him traveling... like i said... if he didn't start his drive from well outside the 3pt line... I don't care if he's 6'11... that's not possible w/out walking... by the way.. your first post said one dribble... then your second one said "dribbling"?, as for lakers... I'm not a "big tyler fan"!! I love the kids game!! but not a big fan... I'm not even from Giles County... I'm from loretto... So there goes that analogy!! He did it... and by the way... as far as ups go.... Dr J hasn't got anything on tyler!! wanna see an example of his flying abilities?? Look at the 2nd pic on the basketball phenom's site under tyler smith... ranked 7th in the nation out of the class of 2005! By the way... he is well on his way down in that pic.... http://basketballphenoms.com/tyler_smith.htm [Edited by mas1821 on 3-31-03 9:40P] [Edited by mas1821 on 3-31-03 9:44P]

Guest Bluebobcat
What difference does it make if a biased moderator puts one athlete ahead of another? As defined by Webster's, a moderator is a non-partisan presiding officer of a meeting. It seems that the moderators are more interested in creating animosity and hard feelings between schools, users of the site and fans of various athletes. It's not necessary. In viewing another thread a few days ago, the moderator finally had to step in and halt responses from users because it got out of hand. The moderator was also a part of the problem, i.e, he was contributing to the trash being written. I think if these coaches and great prognosticators were so much, why aren't they somewhere winning yearly titles or making the big bucks. If you'll notice, none of this message is about whether Tyler or the twins was better. It makes no difference. Folks, try to keep the threads related to the subject and informative as it should be.
