2003 Gomab Preseason AAU Team Rankings... I will update these every two weeks throughout the summer, to try and create more interest and discussion in the Boys Summer Travel Circuit...

 

2003 Gomab Preseason AAU Team Rankings

 

17:u

1... YOMCA... One of the Best teams in country. Status of Jerrell Houston up in air... West

2... Tn Travelers... Loaded guard play, led by Brewer, Harris, Hare, Wicke, and Dansby... ***

3... Nashville Stallions... Last year's #3 in AAU State, picked up Bubba Taylor and Jamont Gordon to go with Darden, Price and Smith... North

4 ... Memphis Bulldogs... #2 Memphis team led by 6'10 Cromwell, 6'6 Owens, and G Andreius Loftis... North

5... Tn Breakers... Best in the east, got big pick up of Kellen Pickell to go with Gulmire, Gibson, Tipton, Scott, and Morris... East

6 ... Tn Thunder... One of the biggest teams in State, with 6'10 Robinson, 6'11 Daniel, 6'6 Sims, plus PG's Cooper and Helton... South

7... Memphis East AAU... Led by 6'9 Jerrell Houston and 6'10 Keiron Jackson... West

8... Murfreesboro Nets... Very solid, disciplined team, led by Watson, Lee, Phillips, Donald, Tate, and Murray... South

9... Tn Dreams... New team is loaded with guard play behind Ramon Williams, Reed, Tuck, and F Teague... ***

10... Tennessee Yellowjackets... Led by 3 Seniors, Redd, Blye, and Williams, plus a host of Upper East Juniors... East

10... Tn Soldiers... Middel/West tn team has a great core behind Carter and Foster of Ripley, plus 6'7 Sparkman, G Nichols... South

Honerable Mention

Clarksville Magic... Clarksville team is very athletic, led by Newell, Bracey, Partee, Bradley, and Townley North

Columbia Bullets... State tourney team is led by underclassmen, including 6'6 Bryant and PG Walker South

Team Tennessee... 6'8 Barry Gardner and 6'6 Frank Wilson lead this team, plus youngsters Richardson, Enyard, Richards South

Chattanooga Steam... ***

Memphis Elite... Not sure who's on the team, but has the backing to make an impact West

2... YOMCA... YOMCA team could end up much higher, led by JP Prince, Mincey, Rice... West

3... Tn Travelers... Lost top player Little, PG Thomas, and moved Palmer to 17's, but added Puckett, Dotson... ***

4... Tn Thunder East (Select)... Led by top PG Harris, Wings Sikes and Tindell, and 6'7 post Newman... East

5... Memphis Rebels... Another Top Memphis team led by Henderson, Kinnard, Stafford, Johnson... West

6... Charles Davis Stallions... Best in Nashville just won 16:u Kentucky Hoopstars Classic, behind Gordon, Perry, Turner... North

7... Raleigh-Egypt... Can you believe yet another Memphis team? Led by Seay, Ingram, and Brown... West

8... Team Tennessee... Very good team, led by Richardson, Orr, and Alston Enyard... South

9... Knoxville Zags... Won Thunder Classic in 16's; Team with good shooters and big size...East

10... Columbia Bullets... Physical, good outside shooting team, led by underrated G Walker, 6'6 Bryant, and BGA sophs ...South

10... Basketball ####. Murf.... Very solid group, led by Perkins, Dixon, Joines, and Smith... North

Honerable Mention

Tn Thunder Central (Elite) Team that went to Nationals last year is led by Hillwood 6'4 F Sanchez Eddins South

Nashville Royals Finished #2 in State last year, behind underrated PG Johnny Lee, Teague, Sims, and Kaminski North

Clarksville Magic May be a surprise team in 16:u this year North

Memphis Idlewild Finished in the upper part of Memphis AAU last year West

Memphis Elite Not sure who's on the team, but has the backing to make an impact West

Chattanooga Steam ***

Tn Dreams Solid team that doesn't play AAU ***

Nashville Titans Made State last year North

Knoxville Lakers Made State last year East

Did the Zags not beat the Thunder that's ranked ahead of them this past weekend? There are so many Thunder teams I'm having trouble keeping them all straight. I know the team with Harris, Asberry, etc is loaded, but I thought that Ralph told me the Zags beat them...
