the ZAGS did beat the thunder team that includes Albert harris, trey tindell, and Asberry this past weekend in nashville.the ZAGS are 8-0 thus far and have won both tournaments thave have played in. How is it that none of their players are listed on Gomab's top 100 sophmores, and 4 of 12 of their players are freshman.Gomab must be in need of assistance in following and rating the teams and players of east tennessee/knoxville

If Gomab was doing freshman rankings I'm sure that Lee Smith of Knox Central and Matt Parton of Catholic would be included. They both are included in Hoopscoop's rankings. Smith turned down an opportunity to play with the Travelers so he could get more time with the Zags. Two sophomores that stick out as worthy of recognition from the Zags would be Jody Fersnor of Karns and Brett Conner of Catholic. Also, Ben Bosse from Farragut and Chuck Grigsby from Union County are good soph's. South Doyle soph. Logan Johnson played for the Zags last year, but is playing for the Travelers this year. Anderson County's freshman Jared Laverdiere decided to play with the Titans. Both are listed on Hoopscoop's rankings and Johnson is on Gomab's soph list......

The ZAGS are definately a quality with a lot of good shooters and big men. They did defeat the Thunder by 3 in the Thunder Classic. The Zags lead by #23 and 15 and the Thunder led by #5 and #2 will both be quality teamsn and should lead to a great substate final.

BBALL.....He is trying to stay in shape. Plus all my kids have an excellent time with us. He said he koved playing for our program and wanted to keep playing. So does Azmar Blye and Henry Williams. Walter Brown (injury), Seth Jervis, Rahman Graham, and Nick Bradley wanted to play but are not eligible for the Jr. Boys Division. There are a lot of Seniors that still play even after they have signed, especially if they are young.

PS...I believe MAtt Malone is eligible to still play. He's really good and should still play. It's a good way to stay in competitive shape. GREAT KID!!!!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
