11U boys AAU state who won? how did the teams do?

Recommended Posts

All three Memphis teams and the Knoxville Ballers made the top four. The championship came down to the Memphis Tigers and the Knoxville Ballers.Idid not stay to watch that game and do not know who won.The Nashville teams obviously did not do so well from a winning stand point, but we sure had alot of fun.

MOTTEP PANTHERS

TENNESSEE HEAT

TENNESSEE TIGERS

The Tigers did not win a game.

The MOTTEP Panthers won one.

The Heat won one.

The Tigers and Heat were in the pool with the Memphis Bobcats and the Knoxville Ballers. We lost in overtime to the Bobcats, got beat the Ballers pretty soundly but not a total blowout, and we beat the Tigers. The Panthers were with the Memphis Tigers and the Memphis Blazers(who we beat in double overtime to win our sub-state)and lost both of their pool games. Our team(Heat)was pretty competitive but were way out of our league when it came to size. Our guard play was as good as any,but could not compete with the size(unreal). This was our first year and I knew ther would be some big teams, but when some of the kids from other teams look me in the eye(I'm 6'),I knew we were in trouble. If someone were to put together the best of the Nashville kids like Memphis and Knoxville did,I think they could and would compete equally.

So what are you doing, questioning the age of these teams or just amazed by their size? A lot of people are upset at the Knoxville Ballers because they think their players are to old. But they've been through 2 tournament and no one has stop them from playing because they are "to old". Knoxville teams are just trying to catch up with Memphis teams, that's how I put it.

I did not mention age in any of my comments at all. My main point was that we did not have the size to compete with some of the other teams. All of the teams had incredible size except the Memphis Blazers,Tn. Tigers, and us. I was impressed with some of the kids that not only had size, but the skills to go along with it. This was evident in the two teams that made it to the finals. They had kids with the size and skills. My question is not about their age,but I would really like to know what their mothers are feeding them.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
