Lavergne has a new feeder school...it has only been open a year. It is called Rock Springs Middle. I have no clue how they did last fall. Previously they had kids from Smyrna Middle that went to them, as well as , Smyrna High. it should make a difference for them to have their own feeder IF the coach starts running their offense, etc.

"You have to give credit to "middle 8" They supply two powerhouses 4A (Mo-Town West) and 5A (Jeff Co) with their kids."

True, Jeff County gets the kids from Maury and Jeff Middle but West only gets kids from two of the schools in Hamblen County: Lincoln Heights and West View. The kids from East Ridge and Meadowview go to East.

Gra-Mar Middle School in Metro Nashville is starting its 3rd year of 7th and 8th grade football. They went undefeated and finished City runner-up to Hillsboro's feeder school (J.T. Moore) who has been good for the past 6 seasons. Gra-Mar could be competing for the Championship again this year. Dalewood and Kennedy Middle schools are up and coming programs in the City of Nashville. These are the non-recruiting schools in Nashville. The scholarship schools such as MBA and Brentwood Academy usually do well with the kids they recruit and with the upper class hard working kids. It usually produces a good mix at these two private schools. Watch out for Pope John Paul II in a year or two. They are learning from MBA and BA.

Sumner County: 7 Middle School Football Programs

1. Hawkins-Hendersonville

2. Ellis-Hendersonville

3. Hunter-Beech

4. Knox Doss-Station Camp

5. Rucker Stewart-Gallatin

6. Shafer-Gallatin

7. Portland-Portland

Any one of the 7 teams has the potential to win the conference year in and year out. As far as feeding the High Schools, we all know about Gallatin, Portland, and Hendersonville football.

Good luck to everyone in the upcoming season!

    • I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
    • Sounds like you know your area history well. Going back and looking the records were better than I thought but mostly still beating Upper East TN schools. Ballard sounds like he came/was promoted at the right time.    I do think it’s no coincidence that them keeping the HCs as guys who were former guys on the staff. Too many times schools want a “state championship” leveled coach from the outside but they don’t know the landscape. Promoting from within will help with less turnover and keep the program consistent.
    • You’re a fool if you think I have more than one account
    • Looking back they had better records than I recalled against upper East TN.  But they still took off once ballard got there. And beating other good programs
