Where is the Alcoa vs Oliver Springs talk?

There was a big article on this game in the Daily Times.

 

Oliver Springs is a no nonsense ball club. They run it right at you. Alcoa is young but very talented. This will be a good ballgame. Brandon Warren is a stud. He made 2 huge plays last week in the Maryville game.

 

This game will be close. I will give Alcoa the nod. I think Alcoa will win 14-10.

It will be one of the most interesting matchups this week. I think the game could go either way. If Alcoa can handle the physical game against OS and take care if the football they could pull off the upset, but the Bobcats have a huge advantage in experience.

I love the talented youth of Alcoa, but Oliver Springs will pull it together this week in a close game. They didn't look bad against Lenoir City until late in the 3rd quarter. They need to stick to their power running game. They also need to control the football. Alcoa is the most dangerous team in the region. Young, talented, and nothing to lose. Still, I think large guys with experience will overide the talented youth. Good luck to both teams!

The Sentinel had a preview article about the game as well. Not too familiar with the teams, so can't make a prediction. Will be intersting to see if OS can rebound from last week.

Well, I had to eat my words last week. I said OS would win against LC, and as everyone saw, they did the exact opposite. I was there and they played the most terrible exibition of football possible. I think the true view of OS football will come out today in the game tonight at Alcoa. If OS does well, they will be right back on the track as predicted. If they do bad, it might be a long year. Any way my prediction is... OS-15 Alcoa-14

OS prevails 17-14 in OT, but since I wasn't there, tell me about it. OS is now 3-2 against Alcoa in the past 5 years.

Oliver Springs kicked a field goal in OT to win it. Alcoa had a touchdown called back in OT for ineligible receiver down field then Fieglar threw an interception. It shouldn't have been close. Aloca should have won 14-0 but poor tackling and special teams play let OS win the game.

If Alcoa couldn't tackle, that means that the team that deserved to win won, right?

special teams make up 1/3 of the game. You have to be good at that as well.

Alcoa has a very good football team. Mental mistakes and conditioning hurt them Friday night. Look for them to finish the season strong and make the playoffs.

Conditioning did not hurt them Friday night but mental mistakes did. Not lining up right for plays(the touchdown in OT that was called back), and lapses in tackeling hurt them.
