Just curious about homecoming traditions at your school. Such things as: Is the queen picked by the football team or student body? Do you know who it is ahead of time or not until the game? Is it done at halftime or before the game? What does the homecoming court wear? Who escorts them onto the field? Are football players involved in on the field activities? Is there a parade the day of or night before? Just any kind of information as to how different schools across the state celebrate homecoming?

At Franklin, the queen and her court are nominated and voted on by the student body. You don't know who it is until the game and typically the ceremony is before the game. The homecoming court is dressed nicely, unless it's a cheerleader who then would wear her uniform I assume. There were no football players invovled last year but I don't know if that was design or not. And yes, there is a parade through downtown on that day.

At Rockwood we vote for our freshman-senior homecoming attendants ( but u can only vote for your grade) then the seniors vote for 3 queen canidates and on the day of the game we vote for our queen. But during the week we have diffrent days like hillbilly day, 50's day, usa day, mis match day and green and white day and on green and white day we have a homecoming parade down west rockwood st. And for our homecoming king which is the day of the talant show the guys will dress up like girls and girls will dress up like guys. Then also during the week we stay after school and decorate hallways.

Ooltewah has a homecoming dance after the football game, all wekk there are different themes to get the students into the mood for the game, they have a powder puff football game where the girls play and the guys cheerlead, the homecoming queen is usually selected at halftime, and while no one knows who won ahead of time its usually a given that a certain girl is gonna win

At Huntingdon there are also dress-up days throughout the week ending with blue and gold day on Friday. The football players nominate 2 representatives for Homecoming Royalty from their grade only. The eight girls are escorted onto the field at halftime usually by either basketball players or others guys who are asked (football players not involved and winner isn't known until halftime). There is also a Homecoming Parade on Friday afternoon that ends in a pep rally on the Court Square. At the pep rally, Mr. and Miss HHS are announced (chosen from 5 senior boys and 5 senior girls nominated by seniors but chosen by student body). Each class always builds a float, too. Floats are usually built on fairly large trailers; there is usually a lot of time put into them and they can be pretty elaborate sometimes. Do other many schools do that? The cheerleaders always have a Homecoming dance they do on the field before the game.

i'm not even sure if my school is having a homecoming this year.... but i'm leaning toward no, we're not.

Are football players involved in the on-the-field ceremonies whether at halftime or before the game?

I know at CPA, Coach Pack would never allow a Football Player to be part of a ceremony before the game or during half time. It is a huge distraction at a time when the player needs to be focussed on the game.

at Lincoln County we have a week of dress up. and on game day we have a parade from the school to the square were we have a pep-rally for everyone at the gazeebo.

For Franklin County's Homecoming, we have dress up days throughout the week pertaining to our theme. Then on Friday, we have a pep rally where the court is introduced. We vote for the court which contains one sophmore attendant and escort, one junior attendant and escort, senior attendant and escort, and then the queen and king about 4 weeks before homecoming. The court can consist of any athelete (yes football players are part of our homecoming since it's the reason we have homecoming). Following the pep rally the whole school is released for the parade honoring homecoming. For the game the court is introduced on the field.

At Tullahoma we vote during the week and find out the results for queen friday at school. During the week we have powderpuff football and different dress up days. We have a pep rally then we have a parade. The homecoming court is introduced before the game.
