The boys on the team at MBA have been taught since they were playing freshmen football that "it is always a little different when its Ryan." These guys know the significance of this game, believe me.

That headline was classic. They put it in the yearbook that year with a picture, I beleive. Too bad Mr. Regen isn't there anymore. He loved the school and we need more guys like him over there.

MBA 36 - Father Ryan 22.

 

The game was not close. The MBA first team offense and defense was dominating. The lone Irish TD in the first half resulted from a blocked punt that was caused by yet another poor snap. The Big red led 36-7 early in the third quarter and the reserves took over at that point. Father Ryan scored two TD's late in the game on MBA's 2nd and 3rd team defense.

 

I have to give Ryan's kids credit, they played hard the whole game.

Thanks for the summary. Rutledge is a totally class guy who would not run it up on anyone. Good win for MBA on the way to 10/10 and 10/31.

Rutledge showed the proper restraint and called off

the dogs. MBA could have scored 60. The final score

does not come close to demonstrating MBA's domination

of this game.

I just wish I had been on hand for Ricky's running up the score in '99 when all those Ryan players were ejected..

 

 

I can remember only one player being ejected in the 99 game, and I think that was on the 3rd quarter opening kickoff.

give ryan two years, i think they will be able to compete at the super 7 level by then they have a lot of young kids playing right now and getting experience.

I agree, Father Ryan has a very talented group of freshmen. Hopefully, they will be competitive in a couple of yrs.
