BigOrange 3
MBA is ranked 14th in the nation, and has victories of Louisville-Triniy, Southaven, and now CBHS. MBA has to be the best team in Tennessee? CBHS has a very good team, but they might have the least class....the players would trash talk and taunt the MBA team, even when MBA would have 40 yard runs. They hit the quarterback late, and trash talked even when they lost. The field was mysteriously soaking wet, while the grass around campus was perfectly dry??? And the CBHS coach gave MBA their film a day late; and CBHS also gave BA their film late...has anything like this happened with other CBHS opponents? tlcbhs
We are the best team in the state and we'll see MBA again in the Clinic Bowl. As far as the field being wet, what do you think we did hosed it down before the game? Seems like a wet field might affect both teams? See you in the bowl and it'll turn out different this time. WatchThis
hah... Clinic Bowl will without a doubt be MBA vs. BA.
OSHSman
Either Lincoln Co. or Maryville is the best team in the state.
FairInMyFavor
The title of this thread is, "Is MBA the best team in the state?" The answer is, "NO!" Not this year, but it'll never be decided on the football field. They are probably the best private school team. That is what the question should have been. Other than that is pure conjecture. Give them their due...give the public schools their due.
rollredroll
A debate could be made for MBA, LC, or Maryville (not in OSHS's camp though; he will never give MBA any credit no matter how good they are). Of the three, MBA has played the toughest schedule (quick count: MBA's opponents: 34-29, LCHS: 32-33, Maryville: 27-38). FairInMyFavor
Let's say this..... MBA is currently the best private school. Lincoln County is currently the best 5-A public school. Maryville is currently the best 4-A public school. Since none of these will meet, let's not argue about who of these could beat the other. Leave it to the teams they play henceforth to see if they are the best in their respective classifications. I'll go on a limb and say these three will win state championships this year. Y'all don't let me down.

Of the three, MBA has played the toughest schedule (quick count: MBA's opponents: 34-30, LCHS: 32-33, Maryville: 27-38). Not mention the Super 7 is 15-4 against TN DI schools this season. The top 5 are 13-1. Not too tough to connect the dots. Edited October 18, 2003 by itzme
rollredroll
inot2bad, That would be the diplomatic way to say it. I agree 100%. Too bad it can't be settled on the field. Edited October 18, 2003 by rollredroll

rollredroll
And MBA could beat those same 14 teams on any given night.
