At the beginning of the year, many from Wartburg thought that the Bulldogs would win the region. Now it appears as if the only way Deliverance HS will see a playoff game is if they buy a ticket.

At the first of the season, it was obvious that 5 of the teams in this region were very closely matched, and unfortunately one of these would not make the playoffs. Wartburg has proved that they can play with any of the teams by how they matched up with Rockwood and Sweetwater (don't remember the Alcoa vs Wartburg score). I was hoping they would make it, and they were so close!

 

I'm thankful OS managed to win this year because next year is probably a rebuilding year for them.

CWP--Alcoa hasn't played Wartburg yet. That game is played in two weeks at Alcoa.

There were five good teams, but Wartburg suffered the most injuries and things didn't wotk out. If two plays turned out differently this year in the Rockwood and Sweetwater games then they would be playing Alcoa in week 10 for second place. Oh well. everybody can play the what if game. Good luck to Wartburg from here on out.
