McMinn County V.S. Dobyns Bennet

The talk here in Athens this week is about the tremendous oppurtinity that our football team has in front of them. You must first understand we almost always have a competitive football team even though we may not have the best athletes. Our program has never gotten the respect I think it should get, maybe because we have never won a state championship( several times region champs). Our teams year in and year out are competitive and always play a tough nose syle of football. With our new head coach Erik Hutchins that trend continues but he has added a passing game that we have not had in the past, this is waht gives us our balance. In the past teams have put 8-9 players within 5 yards of the football and dared us to pass. Now teams can't do that because we can throw the ball, now I don't mean we are the "Fun & Gun" but we are efficient.

I think DB is a good football team and a great place to play football but our team will not be afraid to compete. In fact our kids are excited about the oppurtinity to show that they are indeed a good football team.

Im getting hyped Mcminn County- lets kick some names and take some butts! Oh and I most def. want some Big Ed's pizza, so lets win Cherokees so I can get some of that warm goodness that sends my body into overdrive

My fault on the bad info. on Holland. I was told he had actually previously been in Florida. You know know how bad info can go (sorry). I'm not trying to talk smack, but you have to see where I'm coming from. I know Friday is our chance to prove ourselves, but you DB fans have got to admit if I were posting some of the messages that you all are you would be a little upset. That's just passion for the game. So, with all that being said good luck Friday night.

 

 

P.S. By the way, there is some kind've illness going around here in McMinn co. There has been an excessive amount of students absent from school, including some key football players. I just ask that you keep these students in your prayers.

MCHSGoTribe you are correct about the illness going around and we have been fighting this for about a week. I have spoken to two of the players that have been out and they are fealing better and hopefully are @ school today if not they should be @ practice.

I realize your point about the cherokees not getting any respect but DB is a class act and they are smart enough to know that McMinn has a good team and that this should be a good game.

All I need to know is are all of the cherokee fans invited to Big Ed's if we are fortunate enough to beat DB. We sure would like another chance to show OR we are a better football team than when we played you guys in week #6.

Know being the gracious host that we are we would happily invite you to dine with us or maybe would even leave you a pass @ the gate for free admisson.

I believe that OR is a fantastic team but so is Jeff Co. and it would be a great stiry line next week. Jefferson County plays againist its former offensive cordinator and Jeff Co. alum.

No the best team in Tennessee is probably Lincoln Co. or Maryville. And I wish you the best of luck, but I want an OR DB rematch, no disrespect to your program.But you guys go down 28-14,sorry!!!!
