cbg
I have heard that Dunning & Hiller may have too much bulk to make 103 & 112. They may be at 119 & 125 or 130. I understand that Ryan is using the hydration/fat test this season. What other schools are going to use the test this season?

That would definitely worth seeing. Anyway, here goes my picks (assuming everyone is at the weight class mentioned): 103 - Whit Dunning 112 - Jimmy Hiller 119 - Shawn Cordell 125 - toss-up really, but I will go William Simpson 130 - Cody Cleveland 135 - Jordan Leen 140 - Hmmm, not sure on this one but let's say Jesse Baker 145 - Bond Davis 152 - Max Gessler 160 - Quinn Gibson 171 - Not really impressed with either of these but will pick Kyle Adams 189 - Michael Marable 215 - Matt Bailey - although I ain't convinced 275 - Bashara Robinson - but I ain't convinced on this one either. Well, those are my picks. Who are yours?

Your picks at 125, 135, 145 and 152 are like you have never even seen a match before. Kyle would kill Simpson, Lane would beat Leen, though it would be closer, Bond Davis has no chance against Manley, and Gessler would feel like he had been raped and left for dead after wrestling Scott. Your picks are really lacking.
Wrestle90
I agree with you hounddog. James, Lane, Manley, and Scott are all four strong wrestlers. But Justwrestle... the rest of your predictions look pretty good... I would pay a lot to see this match take place....
brothersboy
You are still leaving out won of the best wrestlers in are state Nick Marable who will be wrestling 152 or 160 and if nick wrestle scott again it will be a different story this year. Nick is also better then smith I would put him at 160 against Quinn.
takedown42
My opinion and thats is all: I do think Simpson will be a heck of a match for James and declare it a toss up. Leen would beat Lane. Manley would pin Davis. Scott would ruin Gessler. How has Nick Marable become that best wrestler in the state? I think Nick is trying to win his first state championship. Let him win this one before you claim him to be the best. I think there are many that have numerous titles that deserve the label of the best. Let Nick win his first state before you make a foolish comment.
wrestlerguy
Well i guess nick marble became the best wrestler in the state after he became the freestyle nation champ. Also James would dominate simpson i would say a pin in the first if not a tech fall. Bond would win his match. Lane and Leen that is tough but i will go with lane. cbg
Like it or not, Leen is the best wrestler in the state this year. He is a winner, period. When the scoreboard is turned on and the chips are down he finds a way to come out on top and win. The last time that I checked that is what counts. Marable is both a national champion and a stud. He will have a difficult time winning the state championship because freestyle and folkstyle are so different, along with the D2 wrestlers in his weight class being very good. Ryan Scott is a legit D1 prospect.
dblduce
I agree that Leen is the best wrestler in the state this year. Marable is a National Champ but that was as a Cadet wasn't it? I'm not trying to put down his great accomplishment but he must first win a state championship in Tennessee to be considered the best in the state. I'm sure he'll will get his first state championship this year though. Good luck to both of these wrestlers.
takedown42
Wrestlerguy, Don't mistake me about Marable. He is a good wrestler and I congratulate him for winning the Cadet Nationals. I would like to congratulate him for winning his first state title but that has been on hold. Like cbg stated that was freestyle and maybe he should be called the best freestyler in the state, but he isn't the best in folkstyle, not even close. At least not yet! As far as Bond goes, I don't think he could last 2 periods with Manley because he couldn't survive the Manley front headlock. As far as my call on Simpson goes I still think he would hang in there. Has James and Simpson ever wrestled before? Can anyone give us help here? CBG you seem to have the low down on the Nashville kids. Can you help us here? I also agree that Leen is the best wrestler in the state. He has proven it 3 times before and against quality opponents.
Rabbitt
james wrestled simpson at the 2001 mccallie inv., im not sure of the score, but im pretty sure it was a major. james took him down and let him go quit a few times. simpson is not in james's leage. espesially now. james just became the highest placer and tennessee history at jr. nationals. defeating 5 returning all americans. i think james is the best wrestler in the state, but it can be argued that leen is the best. but as far as simpson and james...lets be realistic. simpson would have to run just not get teched. i think simpson is good wrestler, but he is just not in james's leage.
