A few posts back, it was mentioned about Oak Ridge fans complaining about coaching. Let's get real, if you are any type of football fan, you sometimes complain about coaching decisions. It's the extreme case that is bothersome. How many people really know Oak Ridge's personnel or have studied the opposition better than Lussier or Gray. The fans are entitled to an opinion, but leave it at that.

With that said, why was Grant Henry returning punts in the DB game? I understand Booker is banged up, but Black, either D. Thompsons, and Gulmire were available. I think Henry is a great young man and a gutty football player, but not the man to return punts. If he is, and with a lead, fair catch the ball and let the offense take over.

Oak Ridge 27

Riverdale 21

It is funny to me all of this smack you are talking about Riverdale. You seem to be their biggest fan and you play for Oakland. Is there no rivalry there?

Also, I heard through a GREAT source that after the Jefferson county game (that you watched) you were asked who you would root for if Oak Ridge and Riverdale hooked up in the semi-finals.......and your answer was........that's right "BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER"

So my question to you OaklandFBaller, are you an actor or a BIG "OAKLAND" LIAR?

Thanks and GO CATS!

Of course there is a rivalry between Riverdale and Oakland. Of course, Oakland's ultimate goal each year is to beat Riverdale. However, these two schools have the utmost respect for each other. They share a feeder school in Central Middle School. Many of these kids played together from the Mufreesboro Mustangs Jr Pro thru Central Middle. ( many for about 6 yrs) so many of these kids are great friends outside of school. In fact, the crazy zone lines have some living across the street from each other and going to opposite schools. Obviously, if your school can't be in the semi's, you want your best friend's school to be. We also stick together in our region which is Region 4. I don't know how familiar you are with our region, but of the 8 teams in it..................4 are from the town of Murfreesboro, and 6 of the 8 are from Rutherford County. So we want schools from our area to win. So lay off of Oaklandfootballer. He is taking up for not only a Murfreesboro school, but alsoa region 4 school, and a Middle Tn school. We have all the respect in the world for Riverdale! Go warriors!

Region4fan, thanks for your input. I have no doubt that region teams pull for each other, however what I question is OaklandFBaller stating without hesitation that he would root for blood (his cousin plays for Oak Ridge) over water (in this case a region 4a foe, Riverdale.

I would like him to respond to his response to the question of "Who he would root for if Oak Ridge played Riverdale?"

I guess he decided to go back on his initial decision of rooting for his cousin. That is fine, but I think he should have thought before answering. I know I will remember his answer and so will other family members.

So OaklandFBaller, what is your response? Go Wildcats!

Im not sure on this one. Riverdale is so easy to predict what they will do. Run, run, run, and run. I have to say it was a great call coach ranken had when riverdale ran and ran and ran but then a flea flicker?! I loved it, it was a great call! if riverdale can mix up the play calling, (I know they have the athletes to pull it off), then they have a huge chance in this one.

i was a senior last year for the warriors, and i can honestly say that after my class graduated, i didnt expect this years team to gel the way that they have. OR is known for great football teams, power football, and a winning tradition. BUT SO IS RIVERDALE! I have no idea what to expect from this year's OR team, so i can only base my predictions on what i see at RHS. We have a sophomore back, Gaston Miller, that could start at just about any school in TN at any level in my opinion. And i personally don't believe that OR has played a defense as fast or stout as RHS's this year. Now i could be proved wrong, but i really don't see a team running the ball all over RHS this late in the season. I am sure the OR backs are legit and are dangerous, but i have a hard time believing that they can be as dangerous as michael edmiston, who riverdale's defense harassed all night.

Also, watch our for our offensive specialists, especially at the tb and qb positions. dave thomas is----SHIFTY, for lack of a better term. All i can say is, WRAP UP. and our two excellent tbs, gaston miller and derente frazier, stay fresh and can easily cause yall at OR headaches all nite long. keaton anderson, jervell ford, and rahmel oliver run crisp routes and oliver( at around 6'3" ) can jump over folks to catch HUGE passes. two way starter at te and de chris perkins, at 6'5" 250 is one of the best all around athletes i've seen in a while, and he has a knack for the ball. oh yeah, my younger brothers on the o line have come together so well the past few weeks, its gonna be hard to stop this steamroller. they ain't overly huge, but they will get after your butt and wont ever stop fighting.

bottom line, we'll see what happens when they strap up the pads and button down the hatches. Good luck to both teams, and i hope my boys bring home the win. remember boys, we have never lost a semi final game. i hope to watch yall next saturday at mtsu.

BRING IT OAK RIDGE AND BRING IT HOME RIVERDALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Regrettably, I find myself unable to provide a solution to this predicament. While ordinarily, I might suggest reaching out to the Athletic Director(s) for assistance, the absence of such a figure in our institution, due to the departure induced by actions of the school board, leaves us without a clear avenue for resolution.
    • Btw I’m not trying to start another topic. But why won’t t c even play us in basketball anymore ???
    • Wiz, could you kindly inquire of MP whether my pork shoulder has completed its duration in the smoker? My appetite has been piqued, and I eagerly await its readiness. Regrettably, it appears that despite my attempts at communication, there has been no response forthcoming from him.
    • Given your evident depth of knowledge on coaching matters, I'm intrigued to hear your perspective on who you believe would be the most suitable candidate for the position.
    • If he’s the best option that isn’t good. I heard he couldn’t even get the qb to play baseball this year.  kids aren’t coming out for him either he’s in the same boat. But it’s trousdale county and it’s just baseball. You can win one game a year same goes for basketball no one will even kno or talk about it. Just like up here on the hill basketball is the more serious thing in my books if you start losing there’s usually some change..
