Who is the best playmakers in this district?

Jacob Melton is the best point guard in the district. He can handle the ball and makes big plays. Hes vey smart.

dctiger12, get a grip. You need to play winning basketball before you can say that melton is the best point guard in the district. I believe that job is Mr. Cates from Livingston or Mr. Asberry's from Baxter. Both of those teams did well last year and will do well this year.

i agree that cates is the best pg in the district. He should be considered a top candidate for mvp this year if not the next few years.

Derrick Ledbetter is the best player in the district period. If we are talking about point guards though, I'd have to go with Melton or Stephens.

I disagree! Ledbetter is good, but e is not as quick as Cates. No matter what happened at Pickett, LA will be very good this year. 7AA boys and girls should be very good this year.

 

BTW- where are the districts and regionals this year anyway?

I guarantee you when we play Livingston, Melton walks all over Cates. You can not pick the ball from him. Hes a solid pointguard. He averages 8 assists and 2 turnovers a game. Ill take Melton on my team any day.

Asberry is the best point guard in 7AA. Haven't seen much of Cates but from what i have seen, he isn't in the same league as Asberry.

i have seen alot of basketball over time and i agree with some of your statements. the asberry kid would have to be the best because of his surrounding players are better than most. this gives him more chances of doing something great. cates is a close second. he need a little more consistent shot. i don't consider stephens a point guard, but more a shooting guard. as for dekalb, he would be towards the bottom until they start competing in the district. Not sure what smith, jackson, or cannon has at point; they all lost them to graduation: sleeper, lienburg and jones. i am sure they have fine replacements, they always do.

my take: the overall pt-guard play is not that great in this district. it does have several excellent playes at the other positions.
