I agree it was a great tournament with some great wrestling throughout both days. I agree with the comments about the bout board and have even discussed it with Ryan parents, but they prefer the announcing to a board. They are the host, so they can run the tournament however they feel fits their needs best.

I too am a proponent of match boards. The one reason I can think of that it is beneficial is for the casual fan following a certain team. Not everyone wants to seee every match of a tournament. Some of the parents and family members are only interested in their team's or son's matches. I have seen fans reading books, cross-stitching, grading papers, watching the football game, playing video games and numerous other activities when their school is not on the mat. When they hear "Now wrestling on Mat 1, Joe Schmo of Whatever High School", their ears perk up and they look to the mat to see their team compete.

To all complaining about the announcing at Ryan,

 

I don't believe anyone could have done a better job than Mrs. Dunning. I also think that she is a hottie and it adds to the enjoyment of the tournament seeing her do her thing on the platform at Ryan.
