sammyben-

I saw that on the schedule too a few weeks ago. I was wondering if anyone else saw that and how long it would be before they changed it.

Unfortunately, it won't happen that way....Homewood (AL) won't be there. Since we have the misfortune of having possibly the shortest season (?) nationwide, that weekend is now our Sectionals (pre-State qualifying) weekend. My guess is the match was scheduled before that was realized. Normally, our State tournament falls on the first (and occasionally the second) weekend of February. If it had been so again this year, the weekend of Jan. 23-24 would have been open. For whatever reasons, that's not the case this year. Our Sectionals are on Jan. 23-24 and our State tournament is Jan. 30-31. ;)

Parkview and Bradley match will be a good one; however, the 160 pound match

goes to Bradley's Gibson.

parkviews 189, 215, are the real deal. Have not seen the heavy but these guys are good enough to rack up some points. Parkviews lower weights are good enough to avoid the pin. If parkviews heavy who was supposedly 54-0 last year is really that good then this should be agreat one.

Hudson (usually at 215)...was 51 - 0 last year and lost once this year. I'd say that qualifies for the real deal. I think Stromie at 160 is 37 and 2 so far this year. The light weights can more than avoid the pin and I'd expect several wins to come from the classes below 152. As you mentioned the 189 is the 215's brother and stout also.

Remember 11 of those guys made it to the finals last weekend and 6 came in first place in a tournament with 24 teams.

I think somewhere on this board you might be able to find how they did against Baylor and use that for a basis.

    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
