region 5: too many teams?

I think best otw and 171 are missing the point, but are still correct. It does not effect the state tourny. It could (will in my opinion) effect which wrestlers would qualify from each team. Like which team moved to a different region. That was really the premise of the discussion.

Has anyone taken the state results from last year and figured out which regions had the most placers? What about over the past 3-5 years? I know some of you have kids that get bored in your class or study hall, print out the previous place winners and the regions and have them talley it up.

Not sure about placers, but last year Region 3 had the most points, followed by Region 5.

yeah there is alot of teams and it can be annoying at regions but i have fun.

they need to do something about it to downsize the regoin.

in my opinion 23 teams is a little too many in comparison with other regions and with teams like franklin and brentwood it may not be the stongest region but it certainly isn't weak. and individually there is a region five wrestler ranked in all but three weight classes and more than one wrestler in multiple classes.
