To All AP Poll Voters:

Since I know of no other way to reach you about these polls, I hope you are a subscriber to CoachT, (as some of you said you were), and refer to the many posts about teams on this site, along with the information that is provided on each team. I don't understand your reasoning in the way you voted in the second poll this week. Case in point:

First Poll:

1. Bolivar

2. Giles Co.

3. Humboldt

4. Raleigh Egypt

5. Kingsbury

Last week, Bolivar defeated Humboldt by 20 pts.; Raleigh Egypt defeated Kingsbury by 12 pts after pulling the starters with a 25 pt. lead. Why then would Kingsbury advance over Raleigh Egypt?

Second Poll:

1. Bolivar

2. Giles Co.

3. Kingsbury

4. Raleigh Egypt

5. Humboldt

It seems as though most of the voters in the AP Poll do things regionally. When I voted for the Citizen Tribune last year, I waded through trying to find out how teams from the midstate and the west did before I stuffed the list with teams from the east. I'm well aware that in hoops, teams from the west and middle do better in the long run than teams from the east. I don't know exactly why, but that's the case.

Therein lies the problem then...misreported records and game results. CoachT's website has each team's schedule and record for all to see, and The Commercial Appeal also has a website that has all Memphis teams' records, schedules and scores. With so much help available on the internet, it seems the voters should take advantage of it.

For instance: Kingsbury has a record of 14-3 - not 11-0!

Raleigh Egypt beat Kingsbury a week ago Tuesday by 12 pts. (this

was actually a runaway and the starters were pulled with a 25 pt.

lead!) When the polls came out, Kingsbury was ranked ahead of

Raleigh Egypt (who is now 17-3).

If we are going to have a poll and if it is to be accurate and believable, then please do more investigation instead of arbitrarily voting. Not necessarily meaning you, but the panel in general.
