can't make the road trip, even just the weekend due to work obligations but looking for reports from the field.

my observations on the matches and todays local fishwrap - good article about the matches but didn't understand a comment by panther coach d. "we weren't suppose to beat germantown or ridgeway (to get to the finals)." you beat them during the regular season and won district 15, by winning which put you against lower seeded comp until the finals. you were suppose to beat them, again which you did.

however,..........................let's review the roadrunner v. panther semi in more detail. panther wins by 11. roadrunner forfeit at 03. roadrunner 03 dd a hair over on a weight check prior to the weigh-ins. roadrunner coach ronnie says no-no to getting the pound off and that he should have been there (which you have to applaud since it sends a message to his young wrestlers about their responsibility to the team) don't know if all coaches would have done that. if dd goes, they get 6 instead of give 6, a twelve point swing and the match. but let's look at 40 for a moment. panther 40 loses to roadrunner 40 by 15, so a 5 point match here. but roadrunner coach ronnie misses something that the grand dragon wizard catches in the finals. panther 40 is too light to be wrestling that weight. instead of bumping, panther coach d. throws a lighty up two weight classes hoping not to give up six, which worked in the semis but got caught in the finals. so, another point gained and the roadrunner win the match by 2 and that's with no other changes, all other classes can remain the same with the coulda, woulda, shoulda stuff. then my predictions in "region eight duals, a story by usfjim" would have stayed on course.

now, congrats to the dragon wrestlers and their fine braintrust of grand dragon wizard and his side kick, a message board lurker. if you can avoid that obvious first round blind draw jinx, which i believe will be bradley or soddy by the way, you can shake some things up. good luck! :D

Jim,

Will junior be making the trip next week? He could car pool with the "oz".

I can't believe you called me junior...but aside from the insult, I can't go. I do want to though. Good luck at the duals and give me the info on the coaching deal when you get it.
