coachmasters
Our "not very good heavyweight" pinned the JV heavyweight from Clarksville.
jcu
I'm impressed!!! I guess I was wrong. The KKW HWT must have done some improving since the beginning of the year. Who was the backup HWt at Clarksville, and is their starter a senior?
coachmasters
Their starter, Nathan Jones, who went down to 215 is a senior. Their backup, Davis, pinned our heavy earlier in the year. I guess that's why they did it. It was a good move that just didn't work out the way they planned. My heavy really wanted to win and that is what it came down to. He wrestled his best match of the year.
BigDon
Everyone seem to be saying the Franklin with win their first match. I believe that everyone is understimating a potential underdog in Science Hill. Yes, they are from upper East TN and doesn't get to wrestle a lot of other TN teams. But they have been quite successful against out-of-state teams. I'm not saying that they can beat BC but they can hold their own against the rest. dragonwrestler
Coach Masters(KKW) Care to share your predictions for the duals?...esspecially Collierville/Clarksville?
jcu
Is Collierville completely healthy? We have seen them in two or three tournaments and they have not had all of their wreslters. Collierville will have to get some pins in the light weights (103, 112, 119) to win.
dragonwrestler
I don't think we have any serious injuries on our team. We have Mike Hammond(112, 2003 Region 8 Champ), Shawn Speroff(119, 2003 Region 8 Champ, 6th @ State), and David hunt(125, 2003 Region 8 Champ). I think we can find a pin somwhere in there. coachmasters
dragonwrestler...If you will give me the Collierville line up, at least what you think, I will give you my prediction.
Aspen
Like to hear anyone thoughts on lineup strategies for Div I Duals? The ability to move around wrestlers gives state duals a dimension missing from the state individuals. McCallie's been a master at lineup strategy in Div II. Which Div I teams do you think are best at lineup strategy?
jcu
Dragon Wreslter, I don't think you need to find a pin, I think you will need to pin at all three of those weight classes. Clarksville is very good at knowing their roles and not giving up pins to opposing teams studs. As for the other question, I think coach Cobb (CLK) showed he knows how to change his lineup, and I think coach Gabriel is great at adjusting his (up or down), but does not have the bodies to do that as much this year. best_of_the_west
No, they won't need all three to be pins. Clarksville will probably only win 1 or 2 matches from 103-140. The real test will come from there up. The dragons will probably need 1 upset. Billy West lost to Hebda by 1 last time, and he has beaten Ross of Brentwood. That could be a good match.
