Who look like they will field a strong team this year in Division II? How many returning starters and pitchers for each team?

BGA should be really talented. They were really young last year and did some good things. I expect the 'Cats to be the top team in the Middle Region... but MBA, Father Ryan, BA- they can always be expected to be in the hunt. But my money would go on BGA.

Brentwood Academy will have an explosive lineup, but major questions surround the Eagles' pitching depth. If those worries are alleviated, BA will be making Mississippi Mud Pies in May.

They at least have Fisher who is going to GA Tech to play baseball so I would say they probably have some other talented players. I just can't recall.

well i think they graduated something like 11 seniors, 7 of whom started. they return 4 of their 5 starting pitchers though. I would expect baylor to put together another good team, maybe not one that wins state, but a good one. I just looked at Baylor's teams preview on the TBCA site and they look like they are gonna start all jrs. and srs.

Yeah, well a good program like Baylor always starts mostly Jrs and Srs. I agree with you, they'll be good, but not state title caliber again. If their hitting can keep up with their pitching they'll do alright.

MBA returns 7 of 9 starters, all of its pitching staff, 8 of the 9 starters will be seniors and all of its pitching staff will be seniors.

Well there ya go... like I said, never count MBA out!

On paper, the Middle should be a fight between MBA and BGA, with the slight advantage going to the Big Red. Ryan and BA will probably duke it out for third. If BA finds another pitcher, and more importantly, a reliable catcher, they could be better than expected. Offensively, the Eagles will produce.
