best_of_the_west
No problem. You are a very "spirited" coach, and from what I have heard and seen, you are one of the best out here and definitely the most vocal. Good luck Friday. I think the seeding meeting might be more stressful than the tournament.
2-hand-headsnap
I agree that every coach should fight for his wrestlers to get a fair shake, but from what I have heard Coach Lewis lost his mind. A big part of being a coach is being to handle the bad calls with the good ones. I also disagree with him walking out. That is ridiculous. Did they even shake hands? Kinda reminds me of the Pistons vs the Bulls when Isiah Thomas was there.
cb56
First off, coach Lewis did not "lose his mind." As a matter of fact, he lined up our team, shook hands with wrestlers and coaches, and even congratulated the 171 from MBA. I was the only one who did not shake hands and that was b/c of an injury, but I did make it back down to the mat after we were on the bus to congratulate MBA. In no way were CBHS bad sports, just upset over a contraversial call, as anyone would be.
usfjim
if a tree falls in the woods and there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? duh. wasn't at the duals but have talked to a few people, read the local fishwrap and postings and can easily conclude that the brother was torched. and it really began a match earlier. sorry that the head life guard from the wave pool won't be at the state this weekend with his clones but this is what can happen when the establishment is threatened. left side, be wary of this and plan in the future. by the way, i have only one fine gentleman's name to leave you with, brian hall. a first class person and wrestler whose only blemish on a perfect senior season was at the hands of the center of the plate machine at ryan. went on to overcome this wrong by winning state later that year at 19. but wouldn't an unblemished record have been grand. best_of_the_west
I just saw that on ESPN Classic this morning. Anyway, yes, they shook hands. I don't think the wrestlers had any reason to be angry with MBA, and they handled it maturely. I heard some parents heckling some of the CBHS wrestlers after the match. That was annoying. Anyway, I think the wrestlers handled the situation maturely. As for Coach Lewis, I wouldn't expect anything less from a good coach. By the way, I have heard from several sources that he definitely knew nothing about an official warning, and I never saw anything to indicate that he had been warned. WrestleSBA
I have to agree with that call on Brian Hall. He is actually a personal friend who I saw a few weeks back. He was completely robbed at Ryan and he did defintiely prove himself at state, he should have been undefeated but that is not how thigns worked out. 2-hand-headsnap
Brian Hall is a first class guy. Where/when was he wronged?
best_of_the_west
Brian is a stud. I thought I heard a couple of years back that he was talking with Nebraska about trying to get on out there. That would be really tough. I wonder where he is now. I think I saw him at regions last year.
WrestleSBA
Brian is currently working as a PST trying to get in the Memphis PD. After that he hopes to return and do some coaching. I do believe he had been approached to help at Bartlett but decided that he wanted to try the police thing. Hopefully I will see him soon and maybe get him to start coming back around. best_of_the_west
Haha. I think that Doty's goal is to get one coach per wrestler. Then everyone can have a good practice partner.
WrestleSBA
Thsi is most true. I know that when he bumped into me at my old job he even mentioned something to me about it. But hey, you can't complain I mean he is had made a very good program out there in a very short amount of itme.
oneblindref
In regards to the "official warning" THERE IS NO WARNING FOR UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT!
