Once again, teams from district 12 AA battled each other for three great games last night. Humboldt beat South Side by 2 in a game that went down to the wire. Liberty beat McNairy by 2 in a game that went down to the wire. Both games were won on last second shots (according to the Jackson Sun). Bolivar (best team in the state in AA) beat Chester Co. by 7 and was a 1 point game with 2 minutes left. What a great district. Bolivar ends up going undefeated with a 10-0 record. South Side finishes 6-4, Humboldt, Chester Co. and Liberty all go 4-6 and a much improved McNairy went 1-9. McNairy is good enough to have won many more games in another district.

McNairy could easily be 19-8 and 5-5 in region play. They had big leads in the 4th quarter against Camden (L59-54), Lexington (L58-54), Humboldt (L78-76 OT), had lead in the 4th against Hernando,MS (L42-40), and had games against Chester Co (L48-44), Humboldt (L53-48), and Liberty (L51-49) go down to the wire. They just never could find a way to put teams away or win it in the end. This is one of the toughest districts if not the toughest in the state. Bolivar and SOuthside will be in the regionals but the other two spots are up for grabs. It would not surprise me if we had a all 12AA semi-final in the Regionals.
