Spencer Manley gets appointment to Annapolis

Spencer Manley recently received his letter confirming his appointment to Annapolis-Navy. He will fit in quiet well with Navy coach Bruce Burnett, 2000 Olympic coach. While Univ. of Va. is still very interested, it looks very likely that he'll be the fourth Tn wrestler to compete in the competitive EIWA conference, thus joining the Simpsons(Phillip & Patrick-West Point), and Jordan Leen-Cornell. It's very likely that they'll meet each other from time to time as well.

Being a great wrestler isn't all Spencer does well in; he has a 4.2 GPA while taking several AP courses. Congratulations to Spencer for this honor.

Spencer is a special young man with great abilities and desire to use them to the fullest. Receiving an appointment to Annapolis is the result of a long arduous process where every aspect of a candidate is reviewed in detail. Getting this appointment shows howwell rounded Spencer is.

I would like to congratulate Spencer on his appointment to the Navy Academy, its quite an accomplishment...however he is quite the young man...I know how hard he has been working this season and I am confident in that his extremely large amount of dedication will pay off tomorrow. while it's certainly an honor to be appointed to the navel academy, it's not exactly reasonable to draw comparisons between spencer and leen. leen is headed to a top 5 wrestling school to compete with the big boys right off the bat as a sure fire freshman starter at cornell...
