It may have been just me but when Ryan Scott and Jordon Leen won their fourth straight title, it didn't seem like the who crowd cheered. There was a guy in DI that eveyone stood up and cheered for just out of respect for his accomplishments but I don't remember who it was. Leen and Scott didn't get much applause from the DI folks. Just my observation. Regardless of how you feel about DI and DII, you gotta give these guys some respect.

I gave them both a standing applause. I'd imagine that many D1 fans weren't aware that they were their 4 titles, or they were just paying more attention to the D1 matches. The D1 programs generally aren't as involved in what's going on in the sport. They don't have the tradition or support that Baylor, FR, McCallie, MBA, CBHS, ND, etc. have. Bradley and Soddy are really the only two programs that have as much involvement in the sport as the D2 schools. Don't be offended, because I don't think that they were trying to be disrespectful.

The Bradley fans were celebrating Matt Bailey's 215 lbs. state title, not celebrating the fact that they won the team title. If anyone else in the stands knew what the story was behind Matt Bailey's state title, they would be cheering as well. The Bradley fans and their celebration of Bailey's title caught extra attention because it was right by the DI finals matside. If it would have occured anywhere else, it would not have caught as much attention. Bradley fans, supporters, and wrestlers are all classy. It is the example set by their head coach. Anything less than being a class act on and off the mat is not accepted. Also, if the finals were held and wrestled together, I'm sure that more DI fans would have stood up and cheered for Scott and Leen. I guess they were suppose to stop watching their tournament finals and stand up and give recognition to the other tournament final winners. It's just an observation, but I didn't see many DII fans stand up and cheer for James or Gibson as they both ended just as spectacular careers.
