Hey highlanderfan40, you may not relize it, but you are saying it is OK for Cloudland fans/parents to be complete as**s to Unaka, but if Unaka does it to you it's a sin. You need to grow up, and take the crap you've been giving us for countless years. Ya'll have been classless for a long time, we are just giving you "a taste of your own medicine"........ So GROW UP and STOP WHINING!!!!!!!!!!! Its getting old.

Hey 40,

Are these your first postings on Coacht? Or has there been a name change?

For what it's worth, and to the chagrin of many Ranger fans, I've been cheering for Cloudland against everybody except Unaka for several years now; and though many of them might disapprove, I've sat in the midst of many Unaka fans and cheered for Cloudland against other teams. And not one Unaka fan has said a word to me about it. Some of them might not approve, but they're really pretty good folks once you get to know them. Chances are most everyone I know and everyone you know respects our right to cheer for who we want to.

The Cloudland fans I know have been very sportsmanlike to me as well, while knowing I'm a Ranger. In fact, a couple of your fans promised to bring me a Cloudland shirt to wear in Hancock County. I was there... the shirt didn't make it.

Maybe I'm just too old and weak to worry about all this.

But I truly did want to see the Cloudland boys and girls win, and then win their sub-state games.

Truth is I wanted to bum a ride to Murfreesboro with Bill Birchfield.

Thanks for the input, not going to argue about it. Once again, I have not said one word about anything in the past about Unaka fans or parents, nor have I justified anything a Highlander fan has done or said. If you can name an incident in the past that involved any Highlander parent getting on their feet and booeing Unaka players as they came out on the floor, when we weren't even playing each other then I will apologize. I just find it hard to believe that adults can justify that type of behavior. After all, those were kids running out on the floor. Can you honestly say they deserved to be treated like that from adults? If you have problems with some of the fans, take it out on them, not the kids. Anyway, I am not here to get into any more arguments, and again I just want to say congratulations to both Unaka teams, you are doing a great job, keep up the good work!! Come on parents, let's stand together and support the local teams in a manner that our kids can be proud of.

I remember this one time at Oneida!! Here is how this one went down--(I was just there to watch a ballgame--close to home)!! A fan from Unaka threw a full coke bottle down onto the court at a ref either late in the 3rd or early in the 4th. This fan was promptly escorted right out of the gym!! AT one time I knew their name through a friend, but...I have forgotten that part!!

So...Hancock County isn't the only place some fans can't behave!!

If you weren't at the Cloudland/Hancock County girls game on Wednesday night, then you missed the chance to see the Unaka parents hit an all time low with their behavior. Mind you, we weren't playing Unaka, yet when the Lady Landers ran out on the floor, the parents from Unaka (not the players) stood up and booed, with their thumbs down. Had I not seen it with my own eyes I would have had a hard time trying to image grown adults acting that way. They truly diminished any kind of dignity they might have had. Not only did they make themselves look like total jerks, but it makes the rest of us in Carter County look bad. Anyway, pat yourself on the back moms and dads, you are setting a great example for your kids to follow, I just hope they saw what you really looked liked last night and decide to take a better path thru life. Congratulations Rangers (players only) best of luck in your journey to state.

i seen the same thing from the lander fans also, they booed unaka too, thats not sportsmanship. but i guess win you get beat you you got to find something to cry about. GO LADY RANGERS! YOU GOT THE BEST FANS IN TENNESSEE you should of seen the convoy bringing the UNAKA RANGERS HOME thursday night it was awesome :D

I was at that game too and there was no Unaka fan that trew a coke bottle on to the floor or at a Ref. That is so far from the truth. She simply tapped him on the shoulder and told him to call it both ways. She loves these kids and was very angry that the refs were taking the game away from them. She didn't mean anything bad by it. She just got caught up in the game. Talk about a rumor.

Unaka does have great fans, players, coaches, parents, and staff.

GO LADY RANGERS ~ ALL THE WAY TO THE BORO :D

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
