How Can you say that?

 

Oliver Springs's Laura Hall and Shelbyville's ALex Fuller were first team all state AP last year and neither of their teams made the state tourney.

 

Addidiontally, Cait MacMahan as a freshman made all state last year and she didnt make the state tourney.

You are right, It was the year before last Shelbyville was knocked out in regional play.

Your ALL-STATE team should be the 10 best from each class and not just the

girls who were at the state tournament. There will be many from the tournament

that make the team but AP VOTERS are not qualified to vote on a statewide

basis....

When a player makes it to substate or state she gets to be seen more than those who don't. It is tough for the voters to vote for a player that they have never seen before. There are many players that make all-state that do not play in the state tournament. But for the most part, the best players in the state DO lead their teams far into tournament play. Playing in high profile holiday and pre-season tournaments also get players recognition by media.

But some players don't make it to state that should. I think that is why you have to play AAU to get publicity and play in tournaments. I don't think it is fair to not give it to a player because she didn't get out of region.

1ST TEAM- CAIT MCMAHAN, HANNA HOUSLEY, KATRINA BEECHBOARD, ALYSHA CLARK AND BROOKE JOHNSON. 2ND TEAM- LAURA HALL, LATOYA BULLARD, ASHLEIGH NEWMAN, MICHELLE SNOW AND JESSICA JACKSON. I HAVE SEEN FULLER PLAY SEVERAL TIMES AND SHE WILL NEVER MAKE IT AT UT.

That's the best I can do here also....According to the post at the top, I am not qualified to be an AP voter. I have seen all but about 3 of these play during the course of the season. Those three get here on reputation.
