Clay County just simply didn't have the pitching to come play your guys today. After playing a tourney and having 2 senior pitchers quit, we just didn't have anyone to throw. The fact of missing a game hurts for both team, but if we couldn't even find a pitcher that could throw strikes, whats the point in playin.

ok 4th and goal, that from where i sit is uncalled for.

Muffin; B-ville = Burkesville aka. Cumberland County HS the host school of the tourny both PCHS & CCHS went to.

now as some of you know i'm a PCHS alumn and i am not a very big supporter of CCHS, but i have to agree with them on this one, i mean look at it this way in all sports usualy when you schedual for a tourny durring the middle of the season you just schedualed out, you DO NOT know the schedual until usualy a week before you go to it, for PCHS they didnt know until the DAY of their first game in the tourny who they were gonna face, so cut them some slack even they couldnt of known that they were gonna play 3-5 games in 3 days then have to come home to play LA, which if i was their coach i would have pushed the game back a week instead of forfeiting thats where i do not agree with him.

Now if you think they got it rough look at PCHS's schedual

4/1 vs. CCHS from what i was told by the coach that got pushed back a few days

4/5-7 @ Fred J. Capps tourny

4/8 @ Clarkrange

4/9 vs. Albany, Ky.

4/10 vs. Jackson County

now if i counted right and not counting the Clay game, that is a potential 5-7 games in only 6 days and i know that weather permiting all those guys will play, its tough enough that we've had to push back a few games and even have to cut the games against Sparta down to only 1 game instead of the two doubleheaders we had due to them schedualing LA on the same day we were supposed to play them, but thats another story in itself.

and to BD44, the point is to go out and play, this is the last chance for your seniors to win a lot of games and from what i have heard out here you guys have the potential to make the regionals this year, and playing LA is how you get good, if you can beat them or play tough against them then who knows how far you guys can go, and heck if your gonna lose anyway why not use it as a learning experience for your Sophs & Freshmen or guys that would normaly play a JV game. But i guess it realy is you're call on it if you want to play or not but take into consideration the rest of the team and the seniors when you make that decision.

i appologise if i offended anyone with what i said but this is my view on this situation.

Pickett Co. finished 2nd in that tournament, lost in the finals to Dekalb Co. 10-0. They have a very good team and are well coached. We had to play Clay Co as a district game because he cancelled on us last week for no reason as well, well I should not say that he told the coach it was cold and there were dark clouds.

The 2 seniors were Matt Davis and Eric Stafford(Stafford didn't really quit, he played for 2 years and backed out his senior year) As for us cancelling with Pickett, we were supposed to come to your place and play, so don't say we cancelled the game for no reason. And yes, the game with RBS is still on.

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
