BGA 6, ECS 2

Caldwell Lucas had a relatively big night with five goals against ECS, made possible by assists from the whole gamut of BGA midfielders/strikers.

His counterpart, striker Joel Locke, rounded out the score with another great goal.

Props to [ECS #9] for catching the BGA defense off guard in the first half and making them pay.

A final goal by ECS with :01 on the referee's clock made the score 6-2.

MVP: Caldwell Lucas for capitalizing on all of his opportunities (an Achilles heel of sorts for him in the past few weeks).

BGA came out hard and strong, playing like they hadn't played since their 6-0 trouncing by Farragut. Great combinations by the entire team and great finishes by Caldwell Lucas put ECS on their heels early on. It didn't take long for ECS to unravel, giving way for Lucas' stellar night.

CBHS did not have it's starting goalkeeper, and there backup had not played all year. two goals hit the goalies hands and one went over his head on a shot from half field. CBHS also had a redcard and its starting center attack was sick and did not play. CBHS totally dominated just not on the scoreboard.

correct me if i wong.....but if you do not score MORE you do NOT win? first you say he goal keeper was the problem ......now you say the mid field the poblem...what was the problem? if the ball was on your side most of the game, it could not be eihter of those prroblems.....problem is they cannot score

I am guessing asdfasfd did not attend the CBHS ECS game. ECS scored first in the game. Then CBHS scored off a PK. I do not remember the times of the goals. Then ECS scored 3 straight goals and took a 4-1 lead. One goal was off a CBHS mistake where they made a throw-in into the box and it was stolen. There was no shot from half field. There was an incredibly placed header that soared over the goalies head, but that was not out of his mistake just a great shot. CBHS did get a red card, but ECS also got one simultaneously. CBHS scored one of their goals in about the last 8 mintues to make it 4-2. They scored their 3rd goal in the ridiculous amount of stoppage time the ref gave them. There was a good 6 1/2 mintues of stoppage time with no stoppahe of play in the 2nd half. CBHS was missing Eric Evans who is out on grades and their starting keeper who I also think is out on grades.

Now I dont understand how ECS got lucky with a 4-1 lead on the number one team in the nation. It was a great game all around. ECS was playing great offensively and defensively beating the speed the CBHS has.

Another note... the ECS game to BGA is a joke. If there was a rematch at ECS it would be a completely different story. Driving 3 1/2 hours to get out of the car and play 80+ minutes of soccer is a killer. Plus ECS also has their center defender out with a red card from the CBHS game.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
