Happy Valley wins!!! The score was 2 -0. Alicia Dick pitched a gem. Erwin was off balance all day. She also knocked in the two runs. The girls also played solid defense.

Lish pitched a great game both physically and mentally! She has really worked hard to be where she is at. She gave herself a great 18 birthday present! She kept Erwin guessing the whole game and that’s what you have to do against good hitting teams. We are really starting to come together as a team. The seniors stepped it up to show how hard they have worked to get where they are. Yesterday we played as a team. The bases were loaded with two outs when Kortney drove in Mandy and Kate to go up 2-0. The conference still isn’t over and we have to come out with our heads on straight next week against Volunteer and North.

Congratulations on getting over the hump. Just took what 10 years to do it. Now the problem begins. Getting over the hump is one thing staying on top of it another. A letdown is in the makings as the only goal your coach and team had was to beat Unicoi County.

 

Going to the state will be nice for you except for one thing you must remember. To get to Memphis from Happy Valley you have to go through UNICOI COUNTY.

You also have to remember that since HV has now beaten Unicoi, this may give them the confidence they need to continue to win. Good Luck with the rest of the season.

Ah Buki, try not to be so bitter and enjoy life a little more. We all realize Unicoi's girls have been dominant in basketball and softball for about 10 years or so, and I'm sure you have really enjoyed it. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Elizabethton and Happy Valley have exposed chinks in your armor in both sports. Unicoi is still good, but the dominance is over. Now you will have to feel the way the rest of us have for years.
