Does anybody know if the state decathlon results are up yet? I have heard they Micheal Bingham broke 7,000 points in division II today, but have heard nothing else about any other divisions.

Just use this as the thread to post results if you would like.

Bingham won DII with a score of 7096 followed by Buck (BA) and Joyner won A-AA with a score of 6681(?) followed by Souder (FRA). When I left, AAA still had to wrap up the 9th event and start the 1500...

Any idea on who was winning the AAA decat.?

After competing in one, I wish I could have gone to see the decat., but I can't leave until tomorrow for the state meet. It would be a learning experience for me. Those are 36 of the best athletes in Tennessee. No doubt.

Joseph Doss came back and won Boys AAA. Melrose hurt Houston by coming in 1 and 3 (Doss and Armor). Houston went 2 and 4 I believe, which I found surprising.

How crazy is it that the top 4 in the AAA decathlon all live right there in the same city? Or at least in the same area. This does cost Houston a few points, probably about 5...getting 13 instead of 18.

Bingham was incredible this year, DII always produces some great decathlon guys.

Correction on yesterday, Houston gets 12 instead...Bradley 3 and Cordova 1 going into Friday.

Michael Ayers does not live in Memphis and he finished 4th. He's a freshman from Ravenwood (Brentwood), and if he keeps progressing the way he has been, Bingham's record won't last but a few years. Oh, and like Philipa, Lauren, and Molly, he also trains under Gary Kinder.
