There's also the classic situation in which Hamilton is too big to be considered a small county but too small for what little help the big ones get, and as a result gets the total short end of state funding (#95 of 95).

Middle School sports should be cut.

 

There should be no middle school sports just like in other larger cities in the southeast.

 

All sports at that age would be club sports. It would still be very competitive. Maybe even more because there would not be as many restrictions (TSSAA). Also, there would be more financial resources.

 

So cut middle school sports to make way for more money to high school sports.

Welcome to the club............Knox County cut out ALL Middle School Sports except Basketball..........in the Mid 80s. They exist now as non-sanctioned club sports teams including Baseball that just started this year. Our local Middle School has a Track, Golf, Soccer, Baseball, etc. team...................just NOT affiliated by TSSAA or the School. They reconginze it, honor it, know it, ETC.THEY JUST DONT FUND IT!!!
