I can think of possibly 2 in East TN. Lenior City is really part of W. Knoxville. The area is growing like crazy and many of the homes are big expensive ones. They have not really made a big impact in their regions because last year they were in the best 3A region in the state. But they have made strides. In 2005, they will move to 4A and play with Central, Powell, possibly Maryville; so it will be hard to crack that. But they have a good young coach and they are getting better.

The other that comes to mind is Clinton. They used to be a state power, but loss of coaches and poor coaching has led many of the best players to transfer to Anderson Co. or Oak Ridge. If coach Shattuck could make steady improvements, the Community will get behind the team and the impact players will stay home.

OOh im a Clinton Alumni and I want them to be over .500 so bad but i don tthink it is very possible to make a 180 degree turnaround in 1 season i know the process will take a few years maybe even a decade to get back to where they were but Clinton is for sure going up hill right now. Years before the players were just like whatever for the next season and didnt even wanna go to practice and half of them didnt even go to practice but this year every one of them are fired up about practice and even next football season and they get down on their selves for even missing a summer workout because they think they might be letting their team down. So im just looking forward to see how it turns out. And remember last year about 60% of the starters were just Sophomores and their were only abou t4 seniors that started. Lets go Dragons.

Contender, DB is my pick for the team that just can't seem to get over the hump (even though they win more than 5 games each year). I saw them play in the semi's at Riverdale 2 years ago and man did they have a lot of talent. I think that they can certainly be one of the best teams in the state. How are they predicted to do this fall?

DB is again perdicted ot win the Big East Confrence for a 8th time in a row. From there I Dont know. We are expected to have more talent and better players this year from last. so hopefully we CAN make it over that hump, and get it to the state champs.

the post about not turning a poor program around in just a year is a bad call. im from a program where we where 8 games under 500 and now we are region contenders.

    • Great to meet you too.  We're going to work hard to get back.
    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
    • Hope you enjoy it King and good to meet you at state this year. Good luck to the Lady Landers. Keep battling.
