I THINK THAT JAMEY VAUGHN #22 FROM LIVINGSTON ACADEMY WILL BE A DOMINATING FORCE IN THE 2004 SEASON.....HE HAS BEEN A LEADER ON THE FEILD SINCE HIS FRESHMAN YEAR. JUST WAIT AND SEE IF HE DONT DOMINATE THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!

I live in Memphis and I am a Whitehaven High Alum. I make it a point to see other teams play as well as Whitehaven. I get to see Germantown and Collierville play when they play WHS. I make it a point to go the the Bridges Kickoff Classic every year, so I get to see Briarcrest, CBHS, and MUS at that time ... as well as Memphis East twice a year. (Bridges & vs. Melrose) I'm not an authority on all of the High school players in the area ... but I've seen quite a few over the years. The best LB corps I saw last year, and I saw some dandy's, were the Melrose, Germantown, and CBHS backers. I only saw the CBHS backer's play once and that was in last years Bridges game against Melrose ... and Melrose had a potent offensive backfield last year, and the CBHS backers all had a good game. I saw Germantowns corps twice last year ... and they were a very talented solid group as well. I followed Melrose as I do every year ... and I absolutely loved their LB corps. Those guys were underclassmen and are coming back. As a group ... they had speed speed speed and swarmed the ball. Their middle LB wore #52 and the fans in the stands chanted "Ray Lewis" every time he made a play .... and he made plenty. According to the 2003 Bridges Bowl Classic team roster sheet passed out in last years game ... his name is Michael Carter, 6'-2", 250 lbs. I must admit ... before I heard them chanting his name, with all the accolades his fellow teammates were garnering throughout the year, and the number of seniors who were wooed by D1 schools last year ... I always found myself watching him play. Just something about the way he approached the game. Never missed a tackle that I can remember, and never blew an assignment. The opposing teams running game went through him ... and he always did his job. If I could create a high school team using the local talent ... he'd be my starting middle LB, no question.

Too bad Oakland isn't half as classy on the basketball court these days. Coach King is a great man and coach, but his team this year and the past two since Barker, Harb, and Duggin have left, have really been far from classy.

 

I know this is a football thread, but i thought i would give my opinion.
