Giles County football is going to be back in a big way this year. Starting with the Cowbell game on August 27th.

One resource that they know how to tap is the Pulaski crowd.

They have athletes in the school if they can get them out and coach them. Is there enough money in the school, county, and booster club to have a first class top notch program? A state contender?

Tonight is what we like to call a measuring stick game. Tullahoma is rolling into town fresh off a impressive performance @ Oakland while Giles County beat Hickman County soundly last week.

 

I'm predicting a 28-21 victory for GCHS tonight. Good luck to both teams.

Tullahoma has scrimmaged three 5-A teams. They lost to Hendersonville 2-1 with the starters playing, but the second and third team outplayed the Commandoes. They defeated Murf. Oakland rather handily 34-13 after falling behind 13-0 with the starters going most of the way. In a practice and scrimmage, Tullahoma outplayed Lincoln Co. Tonite at Giles Co, Coach Olive would like to play more of the younger players, so the starters may not play but one half. It should be interesting with Giles Co. as they are usually one of the better teams in their Region. Tullahoma opens up the season in week 0 at White Co in a Region game next Friday nite, Aug. 20th.

Not sure where you are getting that information?!?

 

Giles Co. has not made the playoffs the last 3 years and usually finishes last or next to last in Region 5-3A. Additionally, they haven't WON a playoff game since 1996.

 

That said, it appears they are geared to "shake up" the region this year and pull a couple of upsets. It will be very interesting to see if they can get out of the basement this year!

DeAngelo may very well shatter GCHS single-season rushing records this year. Bobcats finish no worse than 7-3.
