it'll be like any other year in gleason win one or two lose 9 or 8

You know what. Yeah, they dont win a whole lot but any school who only has 20 players come out and that is on a good year, should be commended on the guts they have. That shows those kids, coaches and administrators really love the game of football. Some of us, I think, sometime take for granted all the athletes that go under the lights on Friday night.

Keep plugging away Bulldogs!!!

That is just wrong and so unsportsmen like you ya'll on this thread making fun of the team that has a very small school, few players, but a big heart. You must dont be keeping up with GHS this year, but no they havent won a game yet, but they havent gotten stomped yet either. They are giving every team they play a run for their money. SF was celebrating their win over GHS because they just barely got it. The same fro PC. I think they deseve some respect around here instead of grown people getting on this dern thing and talkin smack about a small team and that works very hard!

Thanks, neutralwarrior, that was such a true post. Coach Lampkins is doing a great job with the Dawgs. It will take time, but he has made a great start in turning that football program around. We did win our jamboree game, and you are right neutralwarrior, SF was tickled to pull out a win against Gleason. Gleason played a heck of a game, but Vinson was just a little too much for 'em to handle. volsandtitans1, you made a great point as well. When you're on a team with 20 players and are willing to come out on Friday night against teams such as SF and PC, you definitely don't deserve to be run down. It would be different if they didn't try, but those guys have the hearts that a lot of other teams don't.

Gleason seems to be good enough to give some teams a bit of trouble this season---ask South Fulton! And I agree with those on here that give Gleason credit for their small numbers and the heart and determination they display on Friday nights as well as every day of the week after school in practice.

I live in McKenzie and can remember some really good Gleason teams in years past and there may be another one brewing there now. If they can only get some depth. Actually, I have twin grandsons that may be Bulldogs in the not too distant future as well. Naturally, I'm trying to get them to transfer to McKenzie at least for high school but,......................? They are playing youth tackle football in Gleason now.

Guess if it were necessary, I could stand to have them playing at Gleason but, I have another grandson living in Huntingdon right now and his dad and I have an understanding that he will NOT under any circumstances play football at Huntingdon!!!!!!!! He's coming back to McKenzie if he shows any interest whatsoever in football or any other sports for that matter. Son agrees! Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck Bulldogs!!!!!!!! We'll most likely be in the region with ya'll next season it appears right now. We can renew and old, old rivalry!

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
