Gaskin made EVERYTHING look so easy. If i'm not mistaken, that actually hurt him in basketball recruiting as it was perceived that he might be slow. What a farce!

That is what they said.

He has the best hands of any High School player. Do you remeber the diving, one-handed catch against Central? It was right in front of Central's bench. I think Joel Helton made brown.

Thanks Pudding. I appreciate the response. If I decide to go, I'll not worry about tickets too much. I mean, I can always just have the coaching staff over at MHS make a call and get me some tickets....since I've been told they already know that process at THS. Haha.

But seriously, I wouldn't expect the game to sell out. MoTown West really doesn't travel all that well. And with their down season, I wouldn't expect them to fill the visitor section...but hey I hope I'm wrong. I just know that their stands were FAR FROM FULL when MHS went up there this year. And I would expect that to be a Marquee game for them.

To answer your questions about MHS...I think they might not be quite as good as last year. Just one small step lower on the scale of greatness where they live everyday, but just not quite as good. Now, having said that...I think the coaching staff has used what they do have better this year than at any time in my recent memory. They've adjusted the offensive scheme to make the pieces fit better and they've figured out a rotation on defense that gets it done. My gut is that if last year's team could have beaten THS, then this year's team can as well.

Thanks again pudding.

Let me clue you in a little something. This year's Tennessee High team is virtually the same team that played MoWest in the playoffs last year, minus only a few. This past year has allowed them to grow together, get stronger and faster, and they have dominated thus far this year. Even though we hung in the game last year at halftime (7-0), we would easily beat last year's MoWest team with this year's Tenn. High team. Now having said that, I believe that last year's Maryville team was put out by this very same MoWest team, and according to one of your very own beloved fans: "I think they might not be quite as good as last year." Thus would bring the logical person to the conclusion that this year's team would be beaten even worse than last year's team. Going on these assumptions of fair and sound judgement would allow one to say that Tennessee High could cruise to victory over Maryville. Thank you.

They have to know that papa...how would you even know who he is?  Let me vouch for Papa right now.  You'll never find a better guy.

Moving on...I filled out my brackets and it definitely gets Maryville and TN high together.  Unfortunately we have a MUCH harder road to get there than TN high does.  We have to play the cream of the Region 3 crop again (in theory).  Powell is probably round 2 and then Central AGAIN in round 3.

Who does TN High get (in theory)?  The Sullivan's all over again.  Hardly a challenge and maybe that's to Maryville's advantage.  It's fun to talk future, but all I want right now is a W against Rhea Co.

Oooooooooooh...... Do I hear a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Imagine that!!!! Don’t get scared now because you know the REBEL SLAYERS are coming to your town!!! One thing is for sure… there was a lot of talk in our home town about how Sullivan East Rebels would be a tough game “OUR FIRST TEST” and we were defiantly ready for them (54-0). You guys do A LOT of trash talking about how great your team and football tradition is at Maryville and I’m sick and tired of hearing it! It’s like you’re trying to convince yourselves that you are worthy. So stop reminiscing about the good old days because this is not about the ‘back then” it’s about the here and now! Stop the talking and put your TEAM where your mouth is and lets get it on!! You can rest assure… and this shout goes out to all of the Maryville fans that view this post…. WE READY, WE READY, WE READY FOR YALL!!!!!
