Whitwell @ Grundy Co. moved to Thursday

Due to fall breaks in both school systems the game has been moved up to Thursday. The 8th grade team will have a game at 4:30 followed by a 7:30 kickoff for the Jackets and the Tigers.

 

I'll have updates like normal.

If the Tigers show up and play like they did in the second half against Sequatchie, I think they can beat Grundy County. Whitwell must contain Dustin Fults to win this ballgame.

By the way, does anyone know how long it has been since Whitwell has beaten Grundy County?

Whitwell almost made a huge comeback last week at Sequatchie County, but lost 20-14. Grundy got hammered 41-14 by Coffee County. The key to this game is if the Tigers will be able to contain Mr. Grundy County, Dustin Fults. The kid is a great athlete in baseball, and basketball as well. If Whitwell plays like they did in the 2nd half last week then they will beat the Jackets. Does anyone know how long it has been since Whitwell has beaten Grundy?

Grundy has lots of injuries. I'm not sure who will be playing where. They may ask some of us old timers to suit up.

SLOPPY!!!! Lots of rain. Whitwell fumbled three times and lost one and was intercepted twice. One interception was returned for a TD. The fumble set up Grundy's other score.

 

Grundy fumbled six times and lost four and was intercepted once.

 

Grundy had some luck go their way is basically how they won this one.
