You say stabbed in the back i say the right move at the right time. Collinwood program was a joke at the time with an idiot for a coach and a bunch of players that could care less. Bryant went to Wayne County and won a district championship and will be 1st or 2nd this year with collinwood still in the basement. He has a chance to play college ball so it will look better coming from a winning program rather than a losing program.

Santa Fe only lost one starter last year so they are not hurting bad this year!  I don't think that Zion will surprise anybody because they never do! Mt. Pleseant will probably do well this year but they did get beat in a scrimmage over the summer lets see if they have improved any since then! wayne county will probably be good too but no one can determine anything until season starts!

Bryant stabbed his teamates at collinwood in the back. he's to concerned about getting out of his brothers spotlight and getting his. even though bryant is living in collinwood and his younger BIG sister is playing at collinwood that don't mean that the bryants are welcome.

well, ya know, theres not a whole lot u can do about it now.... all that u r trying to do is to stir up trouble, u or well, ppl like u did a good job of that last year, i dont really wanna go thru all of this again this year, leave it alone, he left for better things....

With all the Bryant comments coming back to surface, got to love all the Bryant-Haters out there, especially those in the 'Wood still mad about him leaving, and wanting to do nothing but cause trouble about the situation. Guys, get over it, there's only two things you can do about it: Nothing and like it. So stop gulping down the Haterade by the gallon and get over it. It's in the past, look foward to the future Collinwood, baseball season is only a few months away.

After seeing Wayne Co going 5-0 off the bat i have to say they are the favorites this year. Beating the #6 team in AAA Clarksville NE i don't think they will play anyone in single A with two D-1 players. They are tall and athletic if you shut Bryant down you have to try to stop Nutt, Doyle, Ruddle, Hammock, and Beckham. And for greenallover#4 your comments make no sense at all any person in their right mind would leave cwood their horrible and Wayne Co is going to beat them as bad as they want Friday night.

I will agree, AT first i said MP would hands down be the top in the district. I may have to disagree with myself although i do believe MP has the talent to win it!!

I thought Wayne Co. would have a slight drop off but i seem to be wrong! From what i hear they are looking pretty good!

I think the district will be very competitive this year! I think there are 4 or 5 teams that could make a run at the top (MP, Wayne Co., Summertown, PC, Sante Fe)!

My early season predictions:

1. MP

2. Wayne Co.

3. Perry Co.

4. Summertown

5. Sante Fe

6. CA

7. Clifton

8. Collinwood

9. Hampshire

I believe the top 4 could be in about any order, with maybe Sante fe slipping in there!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
