In the late 90's district 13AA was probably the toughest in the state. With Covington, Humboldt, Obion Central, Westview, Crockett Co., Dyer County, Gibson County, Union City and Brighton. Even though not many big names these teams where tough and could play with anyone. However, a slight decline has occured and the disrtict was split. I am curious who you might think will be this years team, and who might be a surprise team.

I agree with your #1 & #6 but you may have Dyer overrated & Gibson underrated. Think spots 2-5 could be interesting.

True, there are many unknowns surrounding the Choctaw squad.

GC does return their guards...o.k. you've talked me into a change:

 

1. Union City

2. Gibson County

3. Westview

4. Crockett County

5. Dyer County

6. Obion County Central

New Coach, new assistants, new offense and defensive plan; and what maybe five returning players? It will be a building year for Dyer County for sure. This may be one of the least athletic teams in several years, but from what I can tell so far one of the most disciplined and conditioned also. I hope the fans don’t expect too much to soon and gives this team time to grow.

This is always a fun district, regular season and postseason. Remember last year: OC beat UC for one of its five(?) wins. Size is UC's biggest concern, but they'll run you out of the gym if you let'em. Westview is ATHLETIC (caught a bit of their opening practice), and all the teams will be competitive. .... It'll be fun again.

      I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.

      I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.

      Upperman White County both will be loaded. Dyersbirg and South Side will be a handful as well. Getting about that time in about 3 weeks we start watching summer scrimmages. Dyersburg loaded loaded loaded with talent. Most talent ever I have seen in their program.
