Yeah and he ran 16:03 at TN Classic.  I listed guys that have ran sub 16 on that course this year.

hey steepler, this is todd. that was my worst race of the season and i have no excuses. however, i did run 15:47 (2 secs. behind Herringshaw) at steeplechase my freshman year in '02. If boone is 30 seconds slower on average (i ran 16:17 at region there in much cooler conditions in 2002) which i think it is, i hope for a big p.r. at state with the competition and adrenaline (along with better weather hopefully). no matter what happens, i'm just looking forward to the meet since last season was a disaster. in addition to those guys, houston's ginski and some more knoxville area guys who beat cole at region should be in the mix.

Elizabethton is looking pretty much unbeatable in A/AA at this point if they run the way they are capable of. I don't know too much about the other top A/AA teams, but the Cyclones are for real. Mo. West girls should be top 3 at state in AAA and might have a shot at pulling off a huge upset. As for the Science Hill, we're in a huge battle for second in AAA boys with about 7 or 8 teams. It ought to be an exciting day come Saturday. Good luck to everyone there!

I heard Lipscomb Girls won the state ... and the Lipscomb guys placed 3rd in the state ... I'm pretty sure that is right, correct me if I'm wrong though.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
