FCS is probably the second best team in regions 1-4. The problem for them is that they are just at the top of a long list of teams that are playing at a level far below Boyd. I know they've got a good offense, but they haven't seen a D like Boyd's. They have the best chance of being somewhat competitive, but, you're right, it wouldn't be close.

Boyd may be the team this year and stress "may be" But for the next 3-5 years I think Davidson and CPA are going to be really strong enough to contend for the title every year.

Boyd is definitely the choice to make it back to the big game, but who will they face?

 

Is anybody from Region 6 or USJ good enough to keep CPA or DCA out of that game? Region 6 is one we don't have much contact with up here in northern Middle TN.

Mt. Pleasant may be the only team physical enough and athletic enough to give Boyd a run for their money. They are huge up front and have speed to spare. Top scoring team in the state and #2 in fewest points allowed and believe me it could be worse. They are a solid team will no clear weakness, although they will let you pass if you can get it off. This could be the matchup both teams are looking for.

The problem for Mt. Pleasant is that they have put these numbers up against teams in a very weak region plus Mt. Zion. They have not seen any offense or defense like they would in Boyd, CPA, or DCA. MP may have a tougher opponent in the first round of the playoffs than they have played all season. Tough road to go through with CPA in round 2 and DCA in round 3.

 

Now, the other teams in Boyd's region are pretty weak also, but Boyd had a really strong non-region schedule. They've seen "huge up front" and "speed to spare". They won't see anything from this point forward that they haven't already seen and beaten.

 

But hey...if MP can get to the finals, great! Boyd will see you there!!!

Boyd is fired up and ready to win their second state title, and they know it is not going to be easy but they really want it. I don't think there will be any surprises DCA and Boyd in finals with Boyd on top. Yes Boyd will have to go to friendship in the 3rd round, Boyd will not overlook them they will play hard.

I think all you people who are talking about FCS and Boyd have seen one of the teams and not the other. I want to hear from someone who has actually seen both teams play, because I don't think any of you have, unless you're a coach. FCS has a good offense, they say. Have you seen it? Boyd has an amazing defense. Have you seen it?

 

Let's hear from someone who has actually seen both teams.
